On a side note, what would you say about the people who worked on the tech involved in landing?

One of my great uncles worked on a antenna for, IIRC, Viking I. Guy was super smart as he did some work on the B2 bomber. Went nuts when he got older and thought the Soviets were after him. Pretty sure he believed Mars existed as a physical entity since he worked on part of it.

With flat earthers, my older brother works on missiles that change their trajectory based on the curvature of the earth. Don't believe he's caught up in any scandals.

No you definitely have a point! The creation of DNA is very interesting indeed, especially since it cropped up so fast. But then again, carbon forms more compounds than all other elements combined. Mix in some elemental ingredients, add some energy via deep sea vents or whatever it was, and give it a few tens of millions of years. Which is still a very very very long time. I believe it was possible to self assemble. And considering it happened in the blink of an eye compared to the 2.5 billion year wait for multi-cellular life to form, it must not be as unlikely as it seems. One of the things it seems I see a lot in people who are anti-evolution or anti-(scientific theory/principle) is a misunderstanding of what science actually is, and what the theory they're arguing against is saying.

The theory of evolution doesn't claim that life was spontaneously created or explain why certain things evolved. It does, however, give us an amazing tool for understanding relationships between animals. So many behaviours and weird quirks can be explained through an evolutionary model. The laryngeal nerve, chromosome 2. We see evolution in virus populations and we've observed speciation in the lab. The theory fits well with our understanding of dna and geology. Even certain behaviours can be, at least partially, explained through evolution.

When you just wave your hands and say God did it, that it's just a coincidence or put in on purpose to confuse us then you lose a bunch of insight into the world around you. I think that's kind of sad

that balloon went 110,000 feet. I don't think i've seen them go higher than 130,000 without popping. Commercial airlines go upwards of 40,000 feet. I believe the horizon should start to drop off around 45,000 feet give or take and you should easily be able to see the curvature at 100,000+ feet yet the horizon always raises with the eye level.
