I feel you op , I have sex like a maniac, lift, turn off all screens an hour before bed, eat well and still fall asleep like 4 hours after I'm in bed. when I do finally manage to fall asleep I wake up 5 times a night sometimes staying awake until dawn. Pills knock me out but I basically have amnesia for the first half of the day

Sugar/carbs lower cortisol in practically a dose dependent manner. Cortisol is the primary stress hormone, and lower cortisol will help you fall asleep. (If you're a fatass, then this doesn't apply to you, since you're gonna need to lose weight above all else, and in that case you can still eat sugar/carbs as long as its not putting you in a caloric surplus)

Recovering insomniac checking in OP. There truly is nothing worse. Things that have worked for me:
>melatonin 3-5 hours before bedtime (1mg)
>L-theanine
>Magnesium bicarbonate (1000-2000mg) You can make your own mag bicarb for cheap using bulk magnesium hydrixide and plain sparkling water. I highly recommend this and not only has it been noticably effective for me, upping your magnesium intake is healthy. Magnedium deficiency can cause excess cortisol.
>glycine
>Meditation. Understand that insomnia is usually a psychological thing. While the above suggestions helped me a lot, they wont stop the rumination and OCD i had about sleep. Only you can change that.
>dopamine fasting. Just good it. I did this and it made me so bored all i wanted to do was sleep. I slept great that night.
>reading
>look into biphasic sleeping. Allegedly, sleeping 8 hrs straight is a modern thing, and through history, we have been sleeping in two 3-4 hr blocks, with a 2 hr awake time in the middle of the night. So, if youre tired when you get home from work, just go to sleep and wake up whenever, probably in the middle of the night. It wont fuck you up, and it might actually be better for you. I feel very rested whenever i do this.

I also wear ear plugs, and an eye mask every night. I have a fan running to keep me cool as well.

Good luck OP.

If you can't sleep at night, then you're not doing enough during the day. Never nap. Start exercising and eating better.
If there is something bothering you, address it during the day. Don't lay around worrying about it at night.

You can probably avoid it by getting some sort of actual standards in women. Stop thinking these Kardashian clone slobs are hot and you will sleep well

I find praying helps. But only in Latin for some reason. English does nothing.
