I've reduced the amount I visit compared to the past. The structure in the past allowed for useful discussion or was at least humorous. Today there seems to be legitimate attempts to stifle discussion and attempts at driving people to madness. Arguments seem preconstructed with both sides slinging shit at each other. Whoever slings the most shit convinces people who don't know better. Proof or evidence is irrelevant if you just sling shit on the other person's proof or evidence and cast doubt. People who don't know better fundamentally won't be able to know what's actually going on without doing their own research. Most probably won't do their own research. Occasionally you find a diamond sifting through the shit of a cesspool that is this forum, and it will lead you to other breadcrumbs if you're capable of connecting the dots. Both sides of shit slingers are unironically on the same side. It's up to you to sift through the shit yourself. If you're persistent and lucky, you'll find a nugget that will make all your shit sifting worth it.
