This is from the Ethereum Classic developer chat. It is coming true that they will have oracles with their smart contracts

dev here. Centralized oracles like LINK are completely trivial to make. Would never use LINK when I can make it myself in 1 hour or less.

Decentralized oracles are hard, that's why LINK is larping about them being decentralized. But they never will be. It took them 2 years to build something centralized and trivial. Will take them 2000 years to build something 1000x more complicated.

If you're not a dev, please don't comment about "muh collateral" and "muh more nodes". Those are flawed solution that's why they haven't even started working on it.

The Ethereum Classic community has no problem with ETH. We are just the more conservative community, but we are winning to innovate. Ever since ETC Labs took over as the leader of development, there has been a lot of progress as of late

You don't suppose it's possible that LINK opens the door for smaller data providers to compete with centralized ones, do you? Maybe that instead of creating a decentralized Oracle network, it creates the economy for a decentralized oracle network to exist?

Think about it, Ethereum Classic's smart contract is the computer hardware and the command prompt. Most people struggle to use the command prompt.

Now imagine the oracle function of Ethereum Classic as a built in OS. Why do you think people use Microsoft Windows or Mac OS? It is built in.

Don't forget that Ethereum Classic also can create ERC-20 tokens like Ethereum. So image the Ethereum Classic oracle acting as an operating system for these ERC-20 tokens
