14413850 No.14413850 [Reply] [Original]

I've made a 4chan clone with a 1000 link requirement. There's no fee, metamask just checks your balance. Plus there's no annoying captchas. I am hoping we can make a backup board for when this one falls to the normies. Let me know your thoughts.

Ideally, I'd like a check for those who bought in from before mainnet but couldn't make the cut by checking their wallets. you link a wallet to your metamask. you have to have the private keys to do that. you don't just hardcode an eth address. metamask then alerts you what level of access the site is asking for, and for mine its just "check eth address." My script checks your link balance from there.

Also u better look intp coinbase insurance, its a little misleading , it says

"all digital currency that Coinbase holds online is insured. If Coinbase were to suffer a breach of its online storage, the insurance policy would pay out to cover any customer funds lost as a result. "

Then further down it says

"Digital currency is not legal tender, is not backed by the government, and digital currency accounts and value balances on Coinbase are not subject to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or Securities Investor Protection Corporation protections. "

Dude, literally same boat. I had 2000 links, and faggotly swung my way down to 1.6k. I would've had almost 6k if I hadn't waited for so long for no reason to buy originally. I can't stop thinking about a vacation I took in early 2018, spent $5000 and really didn't even enjoy it, only heard about link later that year. monthly access is a bad idea, opens up room for faggots to sign then transfer coins for sockpuppets
you could make it check the balance 1 month ago was at the same point, but you're just delaying the problem (a dedicated spammer could plan his moves ahead)
signing with each log-in is the reasonable way to go about it, metamask isn't gay at all you're just being a little bitch yourself. ideally the website should include other log-in methods, trezor/ledger, portis or w/e
shame to waste it on stinks too, would be better to use a real coin like eth

Why not add something similar to coinbase's credit/debit card verification system?

>user tries to access chainlink board
>site asks for an eth address with >= 1k link
>site checks if address is whitelisted and the user's IP matches with the one associated with the address
>If the address isn't whitelisted (new user) then request verification
>If the IPs don't match then deny access and request the user to reverify their address

Verification:
>Generate random eth value between $1.00 and $2.00
>User sends the given eth value to the site wallet
>Site checks that the amount sent from the unverified address matches the randomly generated value and that they have a link balance >= 1k (this proves that the user has control of the wallet and that they meet the link requirement to post)
>Site whitelists the address and logs the user's IP
