Which companies are going to use DADI? Holo have Orion. Also wee need tech review, to compare DADI and HOT. For now I only see that DADI is using pretty easy frameworks unlike holochain, but is dadi really the new paradigm that going to beat holo?

>> No.14399757

DADI can't compete with HOLO.

>> No.14399938

>>14399734
DADI is much more established in the cloud world, and has around 400 websites built on it already. Some examples are monocle.com, empireonline.com, versus.com, ecohustler.com. In the end, both will co-exist, just as AWS and Azure co-exist, but obviously DADI has a lot more room to grow from an investing perspective.

The big benefit DADI has over Holo is that it automatically distributes the workload over 1000s of nodes, and scales with demand. The dApps which are live in production actually are written in a microservice-driven design, which scales them very easily over the edge devices in the network. In fact, the current community-hosted founding nodes which are powering the first version of the network are all raspberry-pis, so very low power devices. And still they manage to generate around 30$ income per node per month. Self-onboarding, which is expected next month or so, will allow arbitrary devices, and thus the network capability will grow exponentially (as will the people buying in node stakes).

ehm, loadbalancing has been a thing since the 90s anon, i hope DADI didn't present this as a differentiating innovation ALL hosting companies have it and HOLO too. DADI just doesm't click with the tech crowd it's boring, HOLO is revolutionary.

I only see that Holo is using some assembly bullshit, which is almost no one using right now in Web applications, when dadi is using something like node.js, which is pretty popular.

>> No.14400372

>>14400126
wrong, it doesn't click with the hype crowd yet, thats all. Do you think businesses are spending lots of time, manpower and resources to switch from their current solution to DADI just because the fun of it? nope.
The differentation is that ANY edge devices work, and scale, not just data-center servers. Also please show we're the load-balancing mechanisms of Holo are explained, would be interested.

go ask this in the telegram. the loadbalancing is common sense: the DNS requests always resolve to the IP of the closest 'edge device' / holonode. holochain in effect works like a CDN with cloudflare for DDoS protection.

>>14400635
ok show me some well-known websites hosted on Holo. Oh wait, there's not a single one, at all? Got it.

>>14400732
Yeah, so for simple request/fetches thats common sense (dadi does it as well). But I'm actually talking more about splitting up the computing workload for larger tasks over multiple devices and maintaining a distributed file-storage with edge-caches to maximize locality.

ignorance is an expensive trait. therre are several prototype dapps that are live and running in holochain. dyor

Thank you Anon, glad I got out while it was still going sideways. Best of luck to you on the exit. If there's one thing I've learned about "decentralized" or "anti- hierarchy" work places, it's that everyone chooses the easiest work while the hard problems stack up. Without job roles and responsibilities, everyone wants to be the person coloring and making signs with markers instead of addressing tough issues.

To be honest, I would like to see dates and positive reception to the holoports. If the team could deliver on holoport promises and performance, I might consider it if we see a true alt season. You've pointed out in other posts my feelings on normies attraction based on price and cap. As for now, I don't see any upside to holding this when there's money to be made else where.

Yeah, at least DADI managed to ship their raspberry PIs to the community and run a live network with production traffic. Holo is still mostly dreams and it seems that at this high marketcap people are up for a bad awakening. Don't see it to be any different then Waltonchain/Vechain/Golem/etc. who were hyped but just couldn't deliver and are slowly dying.
