>According to an ancient Greek legend, the figure of a gigantic crab was placed in the nighttime sky by the goddess Hera to form the constellation Cancer. Hera swore to kill Heracles, the most famous Greek hero. Hera attempted to kill Heracles in many different ways, but each time his incredible physical strength allowed him to survive. The Romans called him Hercules. Hera cast a spell of madness on Heracles, causing him to commit a great crime. In order to be forgiven, he had to perform twelve difficult tasks. One of these tasks was destroying the terrible nine-headed water-serpent, Hydra.

>During the battle between Heracles and Hydra, the goddess Hera sent a giant crab to aid the serpent. But Heracles, being so strong, killed the crab by smashing its shell with his foot. As a reward for its service, Hera placed the crab's image in the night sky.

I am note very familiar with the particulars of how that insurance works and who ultimately covers the claim. It may depend on who was responsible for the breach. In any case, you are covered for loss due to data breach or personal account breach when you trade through a reputable stock broker (be that a bank or Robinhood etc).

I suggest looking up Robinhood's policy on this as it may differ from the information I have regarding my own brokerage.

ok if a company pays a yield of 5%. Then a decade later the company still pays 5%, and hasn't grown, that isn't so great.

If a company pays 3%, and a decade later the company has 2x the market cap but still only pays 3%, you're making a yield on your initial investment of 6%. (you get more gain from the stock price increase than the div as well)

so the yield that you see when you buy the stock is a very small amount of the whole picture. growing yields can be a good thing, but remember the yield is just a percent of the current stock price. you want the stock price to grow and the payout to grow, in a sustainable way. that comes from the company's earnings. even if the yield % goes down, if the stock price goes way up your actual realized dividend is higher. that's what you want.
if a stock price goes down with the same div, your yield increases, but you don't care about yield % because you're a smart investor: you care about share price increase and how much div (in $) you get paid !

high-quality, well run company will find the best way to pay you back as an investor, whether by increasing their value or paying out dividends. they won't try to make their div yield % as high as possible while ignoring everything else, they will try and make their div $ payout as high as possible, hopefully in a sustainable way

rewrite for clarity:

ok if a company pays a yield of 5%. Then a decade later the company still pays 5%, and hasn't grown, that isn't so great.

If a company pays 3%, and a decade later the company has 2x the market cap but still only pays 3%, you're making a yield on your initial investment of 6%. (of course you get the most return from the stock price increase, but the div is also nice)

so the yield % that you see when you buy the stock is a very small amount of the whole picture. growing yield % can be a good thing, but remember the yield is just a percent of the current stock price. you want the stock price to grow and the payout ($) to grow, in a sustainable way. that comes from the company's earnings. even if the yield % goes down, if the stock price goes way up your actual realized dividend ($) is higher.
if a stock price goes down with the same div ($), your yield (%) increases.

but you don't care about yield % because you're a smart investor: you care about share price increase and how much div (in $) you get paid !

high-quality, well run company will find the best way to pay you back as an investor, whether by increasing their value or paying out dividends. they won't try to make their div yield % as high as possible while ignoring everything else, they will try and make their div ($) payout as high as possible, hopefully in a sustainable way

yes ! exactly!
their yield hasn't changed, buy your payout doubled!

it gets really nutty over times longer than a decade. you could buy shares of Coca-Cola stock 60 years ago and now you would be getting paid out in dividends each year more than you put in.
You have to think of dividends as the endgame of a successful company.
when a company is young and growing, it's ok to have low div or no div.
but eventually, a company can't keep expanding as fast, and they pay you back.

they smart thing to do is buy shares of company XYZ when they cost $1 and their yield is 0. Then 25 years later, they're worth $20 and paying you 5%, it feels real nice.
but if you're a yield-chaser, you're the guy who won't buy XYZ at $1, but will buy it at $20, because it has the 5% yield. But you won't make anywhere near as much money! buy cheap and growing companies, and the dividends will sort themselves out ! don't care too much about yield % !!

it should be noted they are able to pay for the dividend through other means than retained earnings since its return on capital and not specialty, so Id think the payout ratio is lower in reality

also they have a very high operating margin thats increasing. I think the drop is from their recent acquisition and possibly dropped more today because dividends tommrow

>> No.14387328

>>14387145
there is no problem

the yield (%) should only increase if the company finds that it can pay back a larger % of it's earnings to shareholders without losing out on good growth opportunities
which is fine, and will eventually happen to any company (dividends or buybacks) as the company grows.

now the real problem comes when a companies earnings decline or go negative, regardless of dividend payout. Then you will see share price decline, dividend payout ($) go down, etc.

So I've been into airline and aerospace shit lately, figured now is as good a time given all the Boeing shit going on. So here's my sentiment for the next few weeks regarding some tickers.
AAL- bullish, there's pretty good evidence for a small run in the next few weeks in MACD, ichimoku, RSI, and bolinger bands.
BA - bearish, mostly because of the news earlier today about more MAX problems, but that's a dip you'll want to buy.
EADSY - bullish, but it doesn't matter since nobody trades Airbus. Could be interesting to see where it goes given their recent unveiling and Boeing's continued failure.
ALK - bearish/theta, sideways or down unless big oil news comes through, at least for the coming weeks. Probably wrong on this one though, I'm always wrong on ALK.

it means action will be taken soon against the short sellers that have been manipulating LCI price for awhile now

The shorts are stuck, they can't cover.. every time they try the price shoots up on low volume.. the short interest went from 50% @ $3-$4 to now 80% they have been shorting every single bit of good news.. they have been shorting every bit of a bullish price action and have been digging themselves a hole and then to try to work their way out of their position they have been spreading lies and pumping out bearish news repeating the same thing over and over again hoping that someone will sell them shares to cover with.. their game is coming to an end.

LCI should be trading HEALTHY in the mid teens (accumlation) and is a $30+ stock.... the shorts have been manipulating the price and have been making people believe the company is worthless but anyone with half a brain that can do some DD can see that LCI is worth a fuck load more than what it is trading at.. like a fuck load more.. they can't fool the instituions holding over 80% of the float so they've been trying to get retail to sell to them and they've been trying to cover with retail shorts

Gold is a commodity, it doesn't act like fiat or securities. It is far more stable than any of them, what it cant do is increase in value very well. You'll match or beat inflation, thats it, you wont create much value except in times of extreme demand due to economic stress. But if you wanted to actually generate value you're far better off in indexes or property.

What China is trying to do is reduce their own dependency on the US dollar, obviously because they think in the long term the US dollar wont do well, and they dont want to be in the situation where if the US sinks, China sinks too because they have too much money tied up in US currency and debt.

Gold (and commodities) are a natural immunity to inflation risks, since the rise in their price is the rise in inflation.

People need to remember that gold became 'the' safe commodity because its common, stable in supply, easy to store and useful. You could hypothetically use any commodity to store wealth, as long as it shared those traits. Metals are nice because they are low maintenance, good luck trying to store your value in something like cheap steel which can rust for example.

so your first question.. the way to deal with boomers is simple, it's time....

who should we be aborting? abortion is a very personal matter... this takes 2 people and abortion should be allowed, but a man should be allowed to openly go to a judge and say, i'm not the father of that baby, and leave responsibility of the child and relationship if a girl wants to keep.

nope, I will let you guys kill your selves.

I could change my mind... I'm only 31, but shit in 4 years it's a great opportunity to for me to express everything I have said.

which country should we invade next?
invasions cost too much, we should continue status quo.

what to do about the tariffs (increase, decrease, etc.)?
tariffs are to be used like sanctions to create pressure on certain regimes... tariffs suck... we're all free traders here and they're basically just tools for us to pressure regime.

what should we do about space force/NASA funding?
I am all for private funding... NASA and Space Force should be a public/private type of partnership, full fucking, what's the word for vetting and making sure you're cleared for the classified stuff??? all NDA contracts, and absolute secrecy. I support it.

who should be guaranteed health care? who should pay for it?
health care is granted to people who take care of themselves.. if you need help and don't ask, you're the kind of person that shouldn't get help.

who should receive free education? who should pay for it?
education should come from parents, and parents should support children as a couple.. single parent homes cause more problems.. maybe these questions look above, but fuck iit... Abort niggers and jannies.

I didn't say that your abortion answer was 'wrong', I meant, it's completely untenable in the political sense
we've been running the same numbers on abortion for years now, you can't take a moderate stance.
no matter what you personally believe, if you want to be president, you have to either be against it or strongly for it with no reservations.
this is because it's an issue that has a lot of single-issue voters on each side, where if they don't like your answer on abortion (too moderate), they will not vote for you, no matter what your other policies are.

basically, for being a NY Jew, you are not a very good politician (yet).
your answers are too moderate, you need to try and sound strong with every question you answer, like DJT. as if you ahve your mind made up and are in control
you still have 4 years to prepare. keep watching these debates and learn something, and we'll run you with Kanye in 2024 as his VP.

>What happens to the economy and the value of the dollar when the treasury spends more $$$ on less bonds?
I am assuming you mean paying higher interest rates for bonds. This would increase the risk free rate for lending throughout the country. That means higher borrowing costs which removes some liquidity from the system. The result is less growth to potential slowdown. The value of the dollar would depend on what's going on in other countries. If return rates are better in US then increase value of dollar.
>What countermeasures would the Fed/treasury/government likely take?
Fed would likely lower or stay the same.
Treasury has to sell bonds and doesn't have a lot of choices.

here is A:
this is a 30-45 day swing trade, its the most accurate reversion to mean possible

First when the monthly candlestick falls below 1 segment of the lower bollinger band, you put in 1 buy position. when it falls 2 segments you double down, and when it falls 3 segments you double down again or use leverage. Then you sell on the NEXT MONTHS candlestick when the candle covers 40% of the previous candlestick.

You can measure you segments by using the average slope of the lower band over the course of 1 year and eyeballing the length. a flat and skinny band (like usd/yen) means the segment will be very small. a large slope like tesla means the segments will be larger

its the amount of space below the lower band you just use a ruler, like inches. Its not a percentage it depends on the angle of the band

You sell segment 3 when it reverts to segment 2
and sell segment 2 when it reverts to segment 1, and you sell segment 1 when it covers 40% of the previous monthly candle stick. But things almost never reach segment 3.

Bollinger A will net you 5-15% usually
Bollinger B is 2% but its extremely accurate and fast, you could use leverage immediately
