I actually unironically really appreciate your saying this.
I realized very quickly that I am NOT a trader, so I don't swing or anything, I just HODL. And I try to just disconnect from the price. Ideally by just ignoring it and checking once a month.

After google announcement that go harder and I found myself getting wrapped up in the excitement. In part because I have been -- against my better judgment -- allowing myself to get my hopes up that price will rise to the point where I can pull about $5K per month out of my stack and just chill for awhile, try to start a consulting practice, and pay down some debts.

I watch this today and I think, OMG this if FUCKING HUGE. this is the biggest partnership in all of Crypto. This is a Fortune 100 company saying that they will help startups sell their data using chainlink. This seems like the biggest announcement in the history of crypto.

And yet the price starts dropping.

Yeesh.

Not the person you're replying to.
Deriv's market is 10-1000Tn depending on how you calculate. Let's take the lowest estimate.
10x10^12*0.01*0.01 = 1bn value for tokens locked as collateral.
If they are that widely used, we can expect most tokens would be circulating. Price of chainlink would be $1/(fraction of tokens locked), e.g. $5 if 20% are staked.
That's the absolute lower bound, but in chainlink's purpose the higher notional values of the derivatives market are likely to be applicable, as each contact doesn't really care about what else is going on, it doesn't have to be "real" value. That would be $500 per stinkie.
Any multiple of % of the market or % of collateral would multiply that directly too.
That's not counting other markets (insurance) and speculative value.
EOY is a meme but 1K is realistic.

yeah using link/btc for charting purposes now is just stupid. The chart still looks like it could make a parabolic increase to $6, but i think we still have to wait a week to see what it looks like.
if it dumps without rebound the singularity is cancelled.

Pumping at the same time? Link just had a dead cat bounce, my guy.

thats my point. it looks like a dead cat bounce on the link/btc, but the link/usd hit new ath and testing new support.

Can anyone make an Asuka Prophecy for Chain Link? I need it so I can plan out when to buy and sell.

>> No.14363244

>>14363175
No because no one knows where link is going in the short term.

But the short term doesn't fucking matter for link. If you really want to make it, put all your linkies away in cold storage, come back (at the earliest) in 3-4 years and you're unironically rich beyond your wildest dreams.

What's the fucking point if LINK will always be cucked by Bitcoin?

>> No.14363282

>>14363256
How so?

Look at link's performance compared to other alts in the last few months. Link's movements hardly depend on BTC anymore. In the future we'll be totally decoupled as the banks and tech corps pump our bags.

it's not about BTC. People are just selling the news. The price started dumping at like 4:32 EST.

>this is fucking bullshit how did i buy the top

Because you're swingtrading during a bull market. I'm a nulinker who bought at $1.77 and even I'm in the green. Just put money in BTC and LINK and hold instead of buying into pumps. You'd be up 3 and 10 times respectively if you had done that.
