>hey son, how's that crypto thing doing these days? i only bought a few hundred bit coins when you told me about it a few years ago, hope that's enough to "make it", as you kids say! by the way, your grandma wants to know if you can stop by later.

unironically shilled my dad BTC at $10, I was 13.

9 years later I only own .75 BTC. So many lost opportunities. So many chances.

no he didn't, he thought it was stupid. he makes over $200k/yr. he could've put in the money that he makes from literally taking a long shit at work and it would be worth hundreds of thousands or potentially millions. I literally have no excuses either, I was an "early adopter" and gambled it away on satoshidice and cashed it out for weed money because stupid 16/17 year old teenager. it's actually really fucking depressing lel

I along with most of /g/ in 2009-10 sent bitcoins to each other for a fucking laugh. I don't think more than 0.01% of the people there held until it hit 3 digits. If the tech board can't even get it right what hopes does this place have? They were calling it a 'botnet' like everything else that confuses and scares them. Mention crypto on /g/ now and you'll be (You)d into oblivion with seething hisses.

I know, I was a /b/tard then and hung out on /g/ solely for the BTC threads, I remember lurking when /biz/ came out and being one of the first 200 posters. At most I probably had 10 BTC at a time but I must've gambled literally 90% of it away because I didn't know what else to do with it and the degenerate gambling buzz felt gud. The rest I cashed out on coinbase. I had a referral link that got hit a bunch of times on Agora and BMR and had a continuing .2-.5 BTC every week as "play money". the more I think about it the more I get physically sick how much each of the 10s or 100s of transactions that I did at a time were worth.
