I went to a blockchain conference the other day. About 30 or so people showed up. The presentation was about smart contracts. The presenter even mentioned R3. He was then asked about what oracles where
>An oracle is someone who plugs in data into the blockchain.
He had no idea about decentralized oracles or even the oracle problem. Neither did anyone else in the crowd. I might be the only one in my country that is in on this shit

Oldfag here. All these Chainlink threads mean that a lot of nu-linkers (people who bought above 0.50 cents) are excited about us potentially going to 1000$+

Sorry to rain in on your parade kids, but when things are this bullish on this forum we are likely headed for a 60% retracement. Look at the chart, it's a textbook head and shoulders. Lots of nu-linkers fomoing in. People saying 1k link is enough for a suicide stack.

Of course if you can REALLY hold until 1000$ (if it even goes that high) then it's probably fine to buy at these levels.

However most nu-linkers might hold until 1.20
and I don't think they have the mental fortitude to hold below 1.00 for months on end like we have.

Be careful new-friends, this isn't something to be taken likely. Don't invest more then you can afford to lose.

Same, got a buddy who works for a canadian blockchain start up. Goes to these conferences and is a programmer himself (UWaterloo grad).

Told him about chainlink... crickets. Didn't realize there was even an oracle problem. I cut the conversation short as I don't like discussing link with people.

I work for a Bitcoin ATM company. I brought up Chainlink and nobody knew what the fuck I was talking about, except for one kid (literal kid, still in high school) and he started arguing with me about how ZAP was an oracle solution and it was under 3 million, Chainlink is a scam just a whitepaper (told him mainnet was out and he said "oh", clearly he is not in touch).

None of this story is made up. This is literally /biz/ coin. If you do not browse /biz/, you do not own this coin unless you are like Sergey's fucking roommate from college or a Chainlink team member I guess idk why nobody cares about LINK but we're going to make it.

Wow I had the same experience. Me and my buddy were in the shower in this old man's home after we gave him a body to body massage, my buddy is 17 and he knew about chainlink but I don't know this Brook Daniels guy he said he knew it from. Anyways, the old man didn't know about chainlink as much, I think it's really a biz zoomer coin.

I tried to tell about 30 people that I work with, that I really like, about Chainlink, a few of them actually knew quite a bit about crypto, none of them had ever heard about LINK, none of them bought any.

I tried to impress upon them how they would have NEVER heard about this except for me telling them.

None of them invested, none of them listened. I MAY give a few of them paper wallets with a few LINK when I make it, but probably not, I’m infuriated that they all blew me off like I was trying to sell them a lemon car or a pyramid scheme.

I’m stealth mode ever since we hit over a dollar, one day when they see a Chainlink/SmartContract super bowl commercial maybe they’ll remember when I tried to tell them about it.

I'm actually more qualified to talk about this than most anons. I'm employed with a cyber-techno machinations company, I do a lot of security analyst programming type work. Open source, decentralized, APIs, partnerships, you name it. We'd be one of the first companies in line for something like Chainlink, if the decentralized smart contract space had more value over traditional data exchanges. There's a catch though, an underlying flaw more deeply embedded in the bedrock of LINK than the very code itself. The flaw is with the concept, and it's this: Companies won't actually go through the hassle of trusting their data API's through crypto.
Now I can already hear your keyboards going frantic, but hear me out. /biz/ hates banks, and traditional data providers. But actual companies, businesses, and investors do not. There's an old saying you might have heard of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!". The idea that any of our bosses would give us the go ahead if we approached them to put our companies valuable data in a smart contract on a cryptocurrency called Chainlink, that they've never heard of, we'd be laughed out at best and fired on the spot at worst. We already have API data buyers and providers we trust.
'But Chainlink is trustless!' I hear you cry, but is that really a good thing? Just listen to the sound of it. Businesses don't want to spend millions of dollars on something that is trustLESS, they want something trustFUL. 'But the reputation system!', doesn't that defeat the whole point of your coin? If companies only trust nodes with high reputation, what's the difference between trusting banks and data providers that already have reputation, but in real life not on a computer screen.
The fact is, LINK is going to share the same fate as ETH will. A lot of 'real world application' hype, with a lot of 'crypto world application' reality. Only, this billion supply coin isn't going to come close to the $1k that Etherum hit. Happy gambling though anons.

Don't just don't. I mentioned the cost benefits of Link once, they said they will look into it, never did. I told the retard buying every shitcoin about Link, he said it was a scam, faggot holds 5K xrp since 2017. Let the sheep starve and die

Yeah I’m actually pissed off they blew me off, these people have known me for years.

I stopped trying to tell people when I realized the possible security risk it represented to me long term as well as the fact if I actually like these people I may be doing them long term harm when they realize they blew off a once in a lifetime opportunity from a trusted source because they’re brainless.

People are fucking serfs.

If people knew what LINK is set out to do, if the guys in charge of the project even cared about publicising it to the normies and they understood its implications, I can tell you for sure the price wouldn't be anywhere below 100 dollars per link. I consider myself privileged for the opportunity to buy below $10, let alone below $2.

Checked and confirmed.

For reference I told all these people about LINK when it was .45-80 cents. That’s what they overlooked because they’re genetic serfs with no desire to overcome their limitations.

Listen friends, there's a lot of misinformation and manipulation out there, in my experience, the biggest danger with crypto (and investing in general) is being easily influenced into investing in some tokens and then realizing you were just a sucker buying a shill's bags. We've all been here, folks. This crypto space is still immature, driven by greed, flooded with opportunists and is more dominated by marketing than by real value... and there are so many different projects all offering wonderful groundbreaking promises that it's very difficult to keep track of what's legit, what's a scam, and what's a big nothing... Well, do you remember the rick roll troll meme? Well the same folks who came up with that troll joke, 4chan (also known as Anonymous), has been orchestrating secret raids on reddit to downvote every thread discussing this particular token. Now think about this, who would FUD their own investment instead of shilling it? We all shill the tokens we own to our friends and family, so why are they doing this? It doesn't make sense, right? Well they're just doing it for fun, it seems... "as a joke", yup, just like the rick roll meme. All I'm saying is, be careful if you're thinking of buying this one, folks. Personally I'll be waiting until it proves itself to be more than just a joke and reaches at least 10 dollars before taking the risk to buy in, just to be safe. Smart move is to be patient and let the market decides if it can be trusted.
