bigger blocks actually solve the problems. If I recall correctly, 32mb blocks would allow as many tx as paypal, and 32mb is small enough to work on current hardware and internet speeds. You'd have to buy a server to run a node, but who cares, nodes cannot write the the chain anyway. Only miners can and they already have multi million dollar rigs.
