true soul crushing doesnt come from le mcdonalds / starbucks meme. thats just what moody post-grads think

true suicidal soul crushing is 1 level above that...making $31k working in a go nowhere job working in a call center somewhere. same thing daily.

enough money to trap you into higher debts, but not enough to escape paycheck to paycheck.

the upside of mcdonalds or being a dishwasher is you just accept your fate of living in rat infested room drinking cheap beer...the level 1 starter job gives you false hope.

I have work experience in neither of them, but at least at macdonald you can occasionally fuck the new chubby 20 something co-worker, and one day become the manager. Young female people working there seem immature and easily fuckable. If you have good facial traits, some female might even give you her number from time to time. Most soul crushing? Definitely fast food.

>mopping up piss then touching people's food
it's just horrifying and gross, I can't stand it.

I'm not even the type of person to complain about a job, most of the ones ITT are actually good
>general laborer/warehouse boxhumper - pick shit up, move it around, do simple stuff and crack jokes with your boys
>security - read a book or play on your phone, 0 obligation to actually do anything other than report or log "suspicious behavior"
>retail is still trash but on slow days you can make a little conversation with people, especially if it's not a supermarket i.e. worked at lowes, boomers love talking about projects, or if it's a fruity woman store just make a relevant question/comment and they'll love to talk endlessly about their candles/decor whatever

If we came across drugs in a bag check we had to call CBP, but we weren't allowed to specifically search for drugs since the administrative search exception to the 4th amendment only allows a weapons and explosives check to enter a federal building (all US airports are considered federal property beyond the TSA checkpoint). Even if we found it legitimately, you'd be dragged to court to testify and 99.9% of the time it's thrown out by judge because they can claim you may have purposely called a bogus bagcheck to look for drugs... TSA agents aren't LEOs and don't have the "pretext stop" protection from Terry V. Ohio.

The reality is that TSA agents or "officers" as they're weirdly called are basically just security guards.

some of the most carefree times i had was working in mcdonalds / dishwasher at applebees. The work sucked, but at shift end we would all get high and close up...often times someone would offer to get a case of beer...there is a palpable sense this is only temporary.

call center, replace the standing / garbage cans / disgusting food with cubicles...yay you can sit. But there is nothing carefree about it, you and everyone else there hates their work...everyone is worn down...there is zero interest in "grabbing a beer" at shift end. the woman who sat next to me was 47 and about 225lbs from sitting constantly. she was single and her kid had killed himself at 16. There was no sense this ever will end, we all know we've failed at life and we are trying to ride it out. We knew it was only going to get worse.

OK For anyone saying security isn't bad let me explain something, I'm going to take time to explain this read if you're interested.
I worked a year for a large security company in the north eastern United States before quitting, and guards are not seen as employees, they're seen as numbers to be managed and dealt with. Other than the attempted robbing of hours, calling out of co-workers, and instability in scheduling you experience with other jobs, you get something new:

Liability.

Now what do I mean by that?
I mean if ANYTHING, and I mean ANYTHING goes wrong, it is YOUR fault. If something is out of place, and you didn't pick up on it, it's your fault. If you're security for a condominium at night and a resident forgets their residency ID to get into the building, you're not supposed to let them in. But guess what? Said resident will report you for not letting them in, they'll lie and get you fired. Actually, they don't even have to lie, they just have to report you, and your security company will remove you from that site to make sure they keep the contract.

So what do most guards do? Overlook their jobs and let anyone in. Security guards are nothing more than overglorified customer service, even armed guards, pressure them and they will bend.

It's 100% of the dick sucking and shallow interaction with 200% of the blame, and on top of that you have to log everything that happens on an hourly basis. The only good security jobs are overnight with no people around and those are far and few between, you will NOT get the pay you want or need, you will NOT get the job site of your choice, you WILL be called in to work at sites WITHOUT proper training and be held liable for it.

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE: NO MATTER WHAT. There is no deference.

And that's why security is ass cheeks.

And the boredom retail is worse imo, I would rather work fast food again than go back to my retail job.

If you want to maximize suffering, choose a retail job at a smaller store with a ton of downtime, but not enough downtime to actually make use of that time to read a book/browse biz etc. A slow but steady trickle of needy customers and stock work to do will have you suicidal in short order, guaranteed.

Get a job working for a mobile carnival company. You will be (severely under-)paid in cash ($10/hour is normal). You will set up literally tons of metal rides, pull miles of heavy cable, etc, in the heat of the day. You will risk your life climbing impossible metal surfaces with lots of rust but no actual hand/footholds to fatal heights above asphalt. You will drive stakes & ground rods three feet deep into rocky ground littered with "niggerheads" -- buried concrete & maccadder lumps on the ends of extinct fenceposts -- forcing you to either pull back out and my be over six inches or just HATE your way through it with your twelve-pound sledgehammer. You will also get to disassemble them all in the dark while exhausted & sleep-deprived after midnight. You will get to stand in direct sunlight on hot diamond plate steel, operating rides, taking no breaks, pissing into bottles, dealing with shitty kids and their even worse parents (welfare & wealthy alike). You will go to jail if you look at your phone while operating your ride, allow a child who is a quarter-inch too short to ride, or "inappropriately" touch a child. Idk anon. I work at specialty somewhat high end retail shop and it’s pretty comfy desu. If no customers are in, just chill and read on the couch in the back. If I’m at the front browse /biz/ on the computer. Walking distance from grocery store to make snacks. Friends with all my coworkers and the people at the nearby stores.

Even when it’s busy I don’t actually mind what I do because it aligns with my personal interests. I can even work out in the back room. It’s obviously still a wagecuck job, but I’m only 19 so it could be worse. Plus my company looks pretty good on a resume, and the discounts / free shit add up.

Worked as a package handler for Fedex. Probably the most similar to slave labor I've ever seen. Filling up 120*F sun baked trailers with nearly zero airflow at 400 packages an hour (up to 100LB each). No drug tests, had to walk through metal detectors and get wanded going in and out of the facility. Wouldn't shock me to find out people only worked there to make connections to move drugs as it seemed like most had been Ex-Cons or druggies.

There is no arguing this. It's boring, unfulfilling, you'll be payed minimum wage, the experience you gain is worthless, your co-workers are likely to be retards, your boss is likely to be a retard, the customers you deal with will assuredly be retards and you will have to sit back and take any retardation they dole out, you can't even ask them to not be rude to you. Think about it, why would a yellow stone be worth this much? Why has it always maintained its value since the ancient of times.

Well, what if I told you aliens need GOLD to survive. Yes it is useless for us humans, it is just a rock, but for aliens they need it in massive quantities because some substance /energy in it is crucial for their survival just like food and money is for us.

Get enlightened my simple minded mundane friends.

Bitcoin, blockchain, link, eth will never fail. For an omnipotent ai super computer to be present, it needs to eliminateits only weakness first, which is a centralized point of failure. Remove this centralized source of power, and push for decentralization as well as backup decentralization plans in place and you can literally never shut him down or hack it to be within your control. Once blockchain is the backbone of the current digital world, things will change for the worse for the lower and non existent middle class.

The government has been priming you for this reveal decades ago, all the movies/dramas now involve some kind of extraterrestrial being or people with superpowers, we have been primed so much to the point that when they do reveal their existence as our overlords and dependency on our chi, creativity and gold, we will not even be surprised or scared anymore because it has become pretty normal actually especially for generation z.

This will happen, and you might as well profit from the extraterrestrials by going all in the foundational pillars of blockchain as well as the prime resources needed for their survival and enjoy that wealth for hopefully some long years before we can’t.

I traveled with a whole suitcase full of $1000+ edibles, 20 cartridges, 50grams of wax/shatter, and about 4oz of flower on my carry on multiple times when I was a smoker.

They have no way of knowing whether those are just cbd or even nic, only that it shows up as metal.
Flower and edibles show up as organic material in the scanner so just make it look like food packaging.
PROTIP: if you want to carry a lot of shatter or wax put it in those small makeup containers in your toiletry bag. They don't know you're not a girl or care if you wear makeup, it still looks like organic material.
Always put everything in your carryon, not checked.
I went to germany and vaped in one of those smoking stations they have in frankfurt airport and those faggot ass shit eating krauts had no idea I was going full degenerate as they walked by as filters sucked out all the air in the room.
Also the dogs are not trained for anything but bomb materials so if they walk past you they aren't going to care. Just act normal and they'll just walk right past you.

Take out all of your electronics like laptop and don't carry anything they specifically say not too.
I literally had some dumb cunt in front of me get pulled aside for tweezers or a small pair of scissors as I'm right behind her with $10k products.
You can leave the cartridges in a pocket exposed as if you aren't trying to hide them because they will be visible to the scanner but if you act casual they have no reason to think it's anything illegal. Why would anybody be so relaxed as they have felony amounts of weed? So it must be some cbd or nicotine.

I don't recommend having both the cartridges and flower though in the same bag as they will look through the bag and obviously see the flower.
But if it's just flower and no metal they won't see anything.

maybe relevant here since the job i may be leaving is soul crushing

what's the procedure for when you've applied to a shitload of jobs, accept an offer out of desperation, and then receive a much better offer maybe 1-2 weeks into the first job? i know there's no good outcome really but still

would it be worth the gesture at all to extend a 2 week's notice? i feel like that would somehow just be more annoying to a manager in that situation

Hands down, customer service call center. Literally monitored by bosses, no downtime for entire shift. The fucking ring will give you ptsd. 15 minutes for bathroom breaks all day +30 minute lunch. Scripted greeting, giant 100+ list of other people to triage the call if you cannot service. Bitched at by coworkers if you send them to a wrong number for very similar problems. Holy fuck I lasted a month before ghosting. Pay was 35k, It was finance related, and they have a really good 401k, but I had to put in like 6-12 months before getting out of non-temp status and human pay. Kms.

you should be commended for lasting a month -- i'd probably not last 1 shift of that

8 months here. I can no longer receive or make calls without getting absolutely pissed off, even if my gf or mom is on the phone.

I didn't even think it was that bad while I was there.

I work in this role and the worst thing I currently experience is the 2nd/3rd levels teams don't want to do anything.
Did a windows update just fry some computers? Who gives a shit just re-image the computer so when it updates it does the same fucking thing again.
Fucking clowns.

I worked as a franchise owner too. Family thing. Taco Bell. Not sure which franchise you have, but what you said about stuff breaking every week, franchise making you pay fees for new signage etc, and customers calling over silly issues brings me back.
Taco Bell is no joke too, I've had customers quit because their corporate inspectors were such massive dicks and it was too much pressure for them. Damn good people too, which you know is horribly hard to find.

The lesson we learned from all our years is that we have to look at franchising as primarily a vehicle to acquire commercial property. It has to be a means to that end.

Anyways, figure out how to get commercial property. See if you're allowed to expand your franchise; buy a piece of land in an area with good traffic, commerce area of town, good future prospect and be sure that you can make a little more than just breaking even. Do this with a bank loan (I know they must be messaging you with offers every now and again). Develop the property, and if it benefits you, charge yourself high rent for tax benefits/write offs.
Rinse and repeat as much as you can and as often as you can. It will be harder at first, but as you build a team it will get easier. At least three times over five to ten years. Then sell all your stores to another franchise, but keep the commercial property. Presto, you have three commercial properties and clients already on there.

I don't know the full situation, but I have faith that you can live the comfy life anon. Here's my /biz/ throwaway email if you want more ideas or advice, johndillinger379@yahoo.com. We're out of it now, but I would love to help a fellow franchise anon out.

I worked in a plastic injection molding factory once. Whole shift of plastic parts and stuff plopping out in front of you. Trim off the excess shit on the joins and put it in a box. Was soulless as fuck. The machine didn't stop either, so if you went on break you'd have to play catch up.

I do that for a french grocery chain called super U, it does suck but I got used to it. Plus it pays more than minimum wage because most people quit.
