Is adderall, modafinil or related medicine worth the risk if I don’t have ADHD?

I want to improve my focus and energy for productivity.

But I am worried about all the potential side effects. I plan to use them everyday with low dosage; with occasional breaks.

Modafinil is like a worse coffee. Doesn't give any actual focus boost, just disrupts your circadian rhythm so as the day progresses you don't feel like it's getting late. Also makes you feel a little sick i find.

Adderall is good, not remotely dangerous. People are on it for decades with decent safety profile data, you taking a pill once a month to work isn't going to affect anything. That said its expensive and not worth the cost given it's no better than that 1 in 10 times a coffee hits nicely.

I know some people swear by coke for work but that is terrible for you and the price is x100 anything else.

It doesn't permanently kill your baseline there is just an adjustment period if you stop taking it cold turkey. If you wean yourself off it 5 mg at a time you don't even notice it that much.

The motivation you have on Adderall and similar drugs is amazing and a lot of people take Adderall for so long that they forget what their normal motivation feels like. The motivation you feel on Adderall is nothing compared to your normal motivation.

Modafinil has been night and day for me, but gives me the ragies towards family so I only take it depending on workload. No hangover or headache or trouble sleeping, and I notice a difference for 24-48hrs.

Have not noticed a difference between modafinil and armodafinil. I buy whatever is cheaper as long as it's a full dose (one needs 50-100mg more than the other).

Caffeine most other days gets me through with a detox day every 4-5 days.

Haven't tried Adderall, been prescribed it but addictive personality running in my family tells me to stay away (methheads, alcoholics, workaholics).

I have a 100% European Anglo-Celt and I can tell you when I take 50mg of Moda it sets me up for the entire fucking day. My thought processes are crystal clear, smooth, slight mood lift, no anxiety or jitteriness. I quit coffee and only drink tea for l-theanine now.

Adderall is for literal autists and basedboys who have mental deficiencies. Modafinil is just to give you that extra 5-10 IQ point boost with no sides. Adderall will have you crawling up the walls.

I am saying modafinil likely does not work for you based on your genetics, that modafinil's main activity is based on D2 and histamine activity in your brain, and your dopamine system is better suited for other stims.

Adderall is perfectly safe to utilize long term if your baseline, neurological, faculties are compromised. Amphetamine works good for ADHD, for example, because folks with the legitimate condition are chronically low in dopamine at baseline. It’s a dosing game where you’re just giving yourself enough of the medication to function like a neurotypical individual. It’s mostly normies abusing it chronically that end up permafried, but they shouldn’t have been on to begin with.
