>He actually shares that thought with literal capitalists.

Think of it like this, anon. With the scientific tools we had 100 years ago, we had just begun to see single-celled organisms. We still hadn't realized the universe was more than 1 galaxy. We didn't just hand each other these old tools back and forth and overanalyze what they gave us, we invented new, better tools, until we can now observe subatomic particles a billion billion times smaller than single celled life. We generated MORE value (in the form of knowledge) that previous to the tool innovations we didn't even know existed. That's how capitalism works, only the tools are ideas and products.

What? No. It is a way of rewarding investors to offset the lack of growth in the stock price.

It’s not “free money” like some make it sound, but it’s also not selling off the stock. The money comes from the company’s cash reserves, but these companies are often have a well established market, and don’t benefit as much from heavy spending like other companies do.

It seems like it has become fashionable for companies to reward their investors by stock buyback instead. These do raise the value of the stock price, so probably more flashy and attractive to investors.

I should add if you want to sell options yourself
you could add QYLD into the mix
so 1/3 USMV 1/3 QYLD 1/3 TQQQ

Learn by doing. I still remember when I first started, and I got that email from Schwab telling me that I'm not in compliance with the SEC rules regarding settled funds. Those were fun exciting times :^)))

okay, so you sign the contract with X and for example it says that if Y stock reaches Z prize, you'll have to sell it?

and by buying puts you agree that if A stock reaches B prize, you'll have to buy it?

The key is to put 20% of your cash into investing. But in right investments that will grow.

>okay, so you sign the contract
You just sell them through your broker
>e it says that if Y stock reaches Z prize, you'll have to sell it?
the option is going to be exercised anytime before the expiration date
People are going to either hold them or trade them as long as they can because they still have the time premium so when you have to buy it is is probably going to be lower than the strike price
>and by buying puts you agree that if A stock reaches B prize
If you buy puts that means you have the option to sell it to someone at a higher than market price

A stock option is a contract between two parties in which the stock option buyer (holder) purchases the right (but not the obligation) to buy/sell 100 shares of an underlying stock at a predetermined price from/to the option seller (writer) within a fixed period of time.

Not really. Yeah I think the price drops after the ex date roughly the amount of the dividend, but it’s not the same as selling.

I wonder if the price also rises a bit after the payout, due to DRiP investors...
