I'm intersted in crypto but can't seem to understand how you decide what coin to buy? It seems most people just chase a profit by buying low and hoping it will rise.

It depends what you want out of it. Want easy money with a potential 10x? Put a little in some of the shitcoins shilled here. Want safe money with a longer time scale? Buy one of the big caps like BTC, ETH, XMR. Want tokens with utility that you can use? Buy something like the game theory tokens, for example Augur (prediction market), Kleros (dispute resolution) or Chainlink (oracle)
