>Pendulum goes to party
>sees boy sitting by himself
>goes over with confidence and introduces himself to the boy
>Hi I'm Pendulum but you can call me pendy
>Boy smiles and says, my name is C-Comfy, you can call me comfy.
>They start talking for awhile and stumble upon stock talk
>They both go over their $500 robinhood accounts
>Party starts winding down
>Pendulum ask comfy if he would like to try the gay test.. for fun he says.
>Comfy agrees and they head off to a room at the back corner of the house
>Pendulum automatically starts kissing comfy, comfy doesn't stop him but goes with it
>Pendulum turns Comfy around and takes comfys pants off and bends him over
>Pendulum starts eating Comfys ass and comfy starts to moan "ooohh ooohhh emmmmm"
>Pendulum then takes out his cock and lubes it by spitting on his hand and rubbing it all over his head and shaft
>He then shoves it in Comfys ass and starts pounding away
>fuck me! Comfy screams. Fuck me!
>Pendulum ask, "oh yeah you like that huh?"
>yes fuck me hard!
>wanna get fucked real hard?!?
>oh yes I want to get fucked real hard!
>pendulum keeps the rhythm and then goes in really deep
>once in really deep he bends over and whispers in comfys ear "buy GALT"
>as comfy struggles to get away pendulum holds him and trys to go deeper
>oh no no no! comfy cries out but pendulum has him good
>Shove that in your portfolio bitch tits!!!

it looks that way because QYLD price reflects the underlying being called away when that happens. your QQQ's might look more valuable but in the case where you sell your calls for a loss, or have a chunk of your QQQ called away at a lower price, it'd be the same value in the end.

Step 1 was buying a good stock, not memeshit lmao. You wanna look for stuff that‘s somewhat volatile and has good option‘s liquidity, with a lot of strikes and expiries available. Like AMD, SBUX, Cloud shit, Tech sector, Spy etfs, Foodchads, that kinda stuff that everybody‘s trading all the time. Learn about rebalancing portfolios. The basic idea is this:
>pick a ratio of socks/bonds/crypto
>every year at the start of the year, sell and buy to meet that ratio

For example, let's say you want 50/25/25. You start with $1000: $500 in stocks, $250 in bonds, and $250 in crypto. This exposes you to a good amount of risk for a young person (21-35).

Now, it's been a year, and stocks have boomed, bonds have stayed the same, and crypto tanked. Now, you have $750 in stocks, $250 in bonds, and $150 in crypto.

If you do nothing, the next stock bust will wipe out your gains, and you won't benefit from the crypto & bond booms that follow. So, rebalance.

Remember, you want 50/25/25. You have more than $1000, now, so leave $575 in stocks, move $37 to bonds, and move $138 into crypto.

Now, you have $575 in stocks, $287 in bonds, and $288 in crypto. When the bust/boom cycle switches over, you're positioned to gain more.

>But what if stocks still go up, and crypto keeps going down?
You'll still make money. You have 50% of your potfolio in stocks.

>If I know the boom/bust is about to switch, why wouldn't I move all my money into one type of asset?
Nobody knows when the boom/bust cycle changes over. Balancing just makes you ready when it does.

>This sounds like a lot of math.
It's 10 minutes with a calculator, once a year. Git gud.

>I'm still not sold.
Pick up "The Elements of Investing." It explains rebalancing in more detail.

Adjusting weights is too complicated for most beginners, so I'd skip it unless you want to start with a toy portfolio and compare side-by-side with a much larger, simpler portfolio. This way, you can learn from your mistakes without losing too much money.

Here‘s the formula for rebalancing stocks:

S‘ = W * T / P - S

Where S‘ is how many stocks you buy (sell if negative), W is the weight given, T is your total portfolio value, P is the stocks price, and S is how many shares you own currently. If you can‘t figure out how to use this equation, you have to go back to 6th grade maths.

>Most institutional (big money) investors go on summer break. This means lower volume — and generally fewer gains —between May and October.

>This means you should do any selling in late April or early May, and start buying in mid-October or early September.

>Of course, this doesn't protect you from crashes that coincide with the September-April period.

In my experience, this has worked out well. I did the math, and I would have gained less if I stayed in the market from May-October the past 5 years. But take it with a grain of salt, and do your own research.

Your equity stake in qyld would go down obv, but the dividends are paid using premiums received so that shit would stay alive cashflow wise. With a large enough position, your equity shouldn‘t even matter if the divvys keep flowing.

Pic related

Thing is, they lost the manufacturing lead to TSMC (and Samsung), so it's unlikely they're going to get it back anytime soon.

Also note that their current 14+++nm process is extremely mature. Die shrinks normally bring a reduction clock speed at first until the process matures (Intel's Tick-Tock cycle comes into mind before they fucked it up).

However, they've hired Jim Keller (legendary CPU designer who also had his part in AMD's Ryzen) and their next goal seems to be chip stacking (something AMD is also planning to do). How they're going to solve the issues of heat pockets remains to be seen. Or what they're gonna do with their fabs.

Intel's new CEO is also a finance guy instead of a tech guy, so he might lack the vision to get Intel's shit together. Just look at AMD, which was almost bankrupt, before Dr Lisa Su (an electrical engineer) took over and started fixing the company.

options are zero-sum by design, the only way for some to win is for others to fail (equally as much)

with investing, everyone wins (assuming the company is properly managed and retaining or exceeding organic growth)
the investors win because their stocks become more valuable, and the company wins, since it uses the extra capital to make their business more valuable (creating a positive feedback loop!)

with investing you are trading your money for someone else's labor (or resources), which is to be repaid to you at a later date (whenever you sell the stock) for a different amount of money in return (whatever the stock is worth when you finally do sell)

options is just telling a bookie (investing broker) what you think the price will do, and paying out or getting payed based on how right you are compared to others
its not random gambling, but it is non-beneficial to everyone who isnt holding options (or anyone who isnt a stock broker)

investing in companies that do not float freely in the market is gambling, but pure wholesome capitalist businesses do get pure wholesome organic growth (as shownin USA based companies' very positive returns compared to many nations)

what do you have nightmares about?
I mean, you don't have to describe it directly for obvious reasons, but I'm curious
shapes and colors, a sort of abstract fear? or more realized forms (insects, animals, people)? or situations?

I don't ever really get 'true' nightmares, I can remember one dream I had from over a decade ago where I KNEW a polar bear was approaching my location and I had to get out by going through a lampshade. But that was just one act of a longer dream, it wasn't a true nightmare.
There was also a crazy movie-like dream where there was some weird old small-towny situation where there were spiders sucking blood and storing it inside trees. but that one wasn't even scary for some reason.

So I'm really interested in other peoples' nightmares because I don't really get scary dreams

My dreams are always pretty vivid and movie-like, if that makes sense. I used to practice lucid dreaming and actually got it to work pretty regularly, but I stopped because it amounts to having an involuntary six hour acid trip instead of actually resting and that gets exhausting. I pretty frequently have a powerful, pervasive impression that there's some critical piece of information or something that I'm missing but which informs everyone else's motivations and actions. Monday's was horrific, I was back in college and a military officer of some kind made me look at photos of my mom having a miscarriage; she was nude and squatting in a gutter with these twin macrocephalic corpses. It was truly foul, there were all these glossy early-90s looking photos with their blown out colors and red pupils, and they seemed to fill my vision and squirm around in his hands. Doesn't compare to the time I unironically think I saw what was in Kenneth Grant's mauve zone a few years ago though, I still remember every second of that dream and think of it all the time.

100/month isn't that much. I don't understand why you wouldn't do something like 50% BTC, 25% ETH and LTC. or maybe 60/20/20/20 BTC/ETH/LTC/XRP

I assume you already hold some precious metals?

If not, you can buy physical or check out ETNs like GLDI, SLVO, and USOI that write covcalls on commods so you get a div AND you hedge equity exposure with commodities. obvs USOI will track more to equities so GLDI and SLVO are the real hedge

>So... you're supposed to sell puts on companies you like, so if they end up surging and you're assigned, you end up owning a company you like?

I think that's a sensible strategy. On the one hand if, the put expires above the strike price (or just isn't exercises), you still profited from the premium of the put. You are potentially sacrificing higher gains if you could have made more by just buying shares outright, but you still made what you had decided was an acceptable profit. On the other hand, if the put expires below the strike price, you can get assigned the shares. This is equivalent to purchasing the shares at a cost basis of your strike price minus thr premium, so you're effectively buying the shares at a discount to what you would have paid if you had bought them instead of selling the put. If you like the company's stock, assuming the price hasn't tanked too far since you sold the put, it can be a good deal for you.
