I'm deep as fuck and probably shouldn't be. I get stock perks and accumulate 0.01% of outstanding shares each year. Don't be like me. Our P/E ratio is suffering for forced outside our control

Im just trying to figure out what division of financial services I want to go into

thinking:
S&T:
Pros: You get forced to take on shit positions on behalf of institutions and have to trade your way out, so you become really good at risk management and hedging. Good money, exciting day to day
Cons: Hours, risk of getting trapped, hard to get into

AM:
Pros: hours, decent money, starting on the buyside has its advantages including a faster path to PM
Cons: can get pigeonholed and not make PM and may be stuck making less than S&T, don't get access to hedging strat like you would on a desk

Family office:
Pros: hours, pay, job security, don't have to prospect clients, have autonomy, relatively easy path to PM
Cons: Can get stuck in a bad path or role, won't learn to hedge and manage risk as well
