Just seemed pretty obvious that the next big thing wouldn't be "another blockchain" but rather the next step towards real world adoption of DLT, once you understand that DLTs can't communicate with external data and the necessity of decentralizing the oracles it just clicks. The rest was just a matter of seeing all the connections, like SWIFT and ic3, Gonser and the Accord law firms, digging up all the industry reports announcing plans towards enterprise smart contracts, the lack of viable competitors, recognizing the sheer professionalism of the team, understanding the tech and tokenomics, seeing crypto in general is an absolute joke and investors being ignorant idiots, etc. the rabbit hole of potential implications goes very deep and the first few months of research have been absolutely mind-blowing to me and made me utterly FUD-proof.

By my autist estimation, we're midway through the "J" of Chainlink's price action which coincide's with the timeline of Donald Trump's presidency
>the last two years [2022-2024] spent watching LINK get integrated globally like the internet

It all makes sense if you can imagine Trump's signature written on a 45 degree angle of steady economic growth and gains befitting of the 45th president of these United States of Guns, Glory and Freedom.

CL brought a solution and it's time to decide if you are willing to bet on it.
Future will be nasty, because after this long time, there is so many players you have to be a Solid State Drive to know everything and where first use cases will hit the market.

Chain link for the past 2 years has been kept afloat on this board, lifted up on the shoulders of autists. It’s ran a guantlet of fud and came out the other side. I accumulated between .20 and .50. The fud then was easy to dismiss because the shills had airtight arguments, and a lot of the fud was just memes about 2 man dev teams and backpacking trips to Thailand. I was a newfag to crypto, but it seemed likely that link was going to be worth more in the future. The real question is HOW much more will it be worth.

when nodes starts competing against each other it can become quite scarce.
It's the node competition that can make them scarce.
I can't actually comment on how many nodes there will be in the future and what demand will be. What job nodes will do and what collateral will be required.
It is great possibility that 50%+ of tokens can be locked in nodes by 2024 (if we assume success). I have to assume prices keeps rising it will become a burden to increase stacks for nodes. On other note, I don't know how many nodes world will require. This year is a baby step, next year, first use cases, next year economic forums and endless education on new standard, next year adoption, next year first something... next year govs demanding implementation, next year nodes firing up like fucking mushrooms after the rain. And where it brings us? node wars and great link holding buyout. Big fishes firing up nodes, buying up small holders to increase their stacks, locking down big amounts in the hand of few.
I feel Sergey is a good man and his holdings will be shared with a startups, companies, and all kind of institutions to draw them into this.
He will use his holdings to increase the size of the network.

Early memories were not getting involved in the pre-sale pools on /biz/ because I thought they were all going to get overloaded and not be distributed as a result (I was wrong).
Looking through the whitepaper that was the first peer reviewed whitepaper in crypto which was bullish as fuck, and co-authored by Ari Juels whose talk at IC3 in 2016 was my introduction to smart contracts, it all seemed extremely promising, as much of a sure thing as I'd ever seen.
Then two months of radio silence from October to December 2017 where we all basically got facefucked with a 85% loss in sats, but still just holding, reading CryptoTakeoff's weekly updates on /biz/ (which had very little information because there was simply nothing to go on) and waiting for something to change.
But the good thing about that absolute rekkage at the start of the project is that the first cut is really the deepest. After getting an 85% JUSTing every other dip has seemed pretty painless since then.
Early 2018 was when the argumentative superthreads came out and LINK really went through its baptism of fire. I remember seeing anons who were smarter and better informed than me getting in huge shill vs fud wars, and I soon realised the only way to actually figure out the truth was to figure it out myself. Watched every talk, read every piece of news that came out, went further into smart contracts in general.
The only way to become completely resilient to the FUD is to know more than the fudders. Getting justed as fuck helps resilience against market movements too.
How do I feel now? Amazing. Mainnet is out. They're now building on the actual functioning network. It's fucking awesome.

>what are your earliest memories of the project?
Around Spring of 18 when everything was spiraling out of control I was all in on NEO. It had put my portfolio well into 6 figs in usd but I needed to jump ship quick. Got turned into Link by a friend. I think he was be ironic and I had seen countless threads anyway so I checked it out. This was right around the time of AssBlaster. Anyway I decided to go all in and the rest is history. Been holding a 200k+ Link stack ever since and have followed along every piece of fud, larp, and breadcrumb. I don’t want to say it’s consumed my life since I still lead a pretty regular one, but it definitely has made an impact. I’ve always said if I make it, like truly make it, and retire in the next few years, I’d want to scour the archives and put together an encyclopedia of all this info. There’s no one else for me to talk to about this except you guys and the discord trannies so I think it’d be a neat collection of data from this insane journey.
