I do 10 hours straight with no lunch breaks and only 2 quick piss breaks in a call centre. I agree that 25-30 hours is the sweet spot, 60+ hours you feel like an absolute zombie.

Comfy phone browsing on the toilet and getting out for even just fresh air/sun for a few minutes is really helpful in having a healthy mindset too.

No, I work in an analytical lab that does stability for prescription drugs my company makes. It's really easy paced, I play with chemicals and management isn't retarded. Plus the pay is great and benefits. Don't get me wrong, my money is in crypto and I'll treat myself if I make it but I honestly don't hate my job, and I've worked at places where I wanted to blow my brains out. My boss isn't in today and my experiment finished this morning so I get to fuck around on my phone all day. I get that wageslaving sucks but if you're gonna be on that track, find a place that suits you. You'll be that much more happy when you do actually make it

The thing is working retail isn't actually all that bad. The worst part about working retail is the dead-endedness of it all. You feel like a major fuck up compared to your peers. But when I worked retail it was one of the only places where I could openly shit on the company I worked for.. even the manager would chip in sometimes cuz he also hated it there. Instead of the bullshit "team" approach in the corporate world that expects you to like what you do to a reasonable extent. At McDonald's, everyone's having a bad time but at least they're honest about it.

It was a small 8 person lab, the owner was some 78 year old faggot that grew up on a farm and acted like he was God because he had a PhD in chemistry and had several patents for NAD analogues that we manufactured. The dude literally had zero interests or hobbies outside the lab like literally there every fucking day weekends included, has an 8 year old son which pissed me off to no end. You'd think at that age with a cushy pension from his previous employment/government and owning several properties he rents out that he'd spend every moment he could with his kid knowing he's not far from death but nope, he'd rather act like an emotional retard anytime he thought you did something wrong or asked a question he didn't like. I work as a software engineer making roughly 120k USD a year in Europe, and although I'd like to eventually start my own thing and stop working to make someone else richer, I think I have it pretty good. No one is breathing down my neck, workplace is results oriented and nobody gives a shit if you turn up at 2pm hungover as shit as long as you get the work done (and attend the meetings you need to attend), nor do they care if you work remotely from Portugal or Ibiza for a week.

I would probably kill myself if I had to work at a workplace where management is so retarded that they care more about ass in seat time rather than results.
