All you're doing is drawing a support line between the historic low and the local low. You could have done this at any of the break points marked by the yellow arrows here and it would have broken down every time.
Symmetrical triangles already tell you next to nothing, all you've done here is make it even l e s s reliable by using 2 points of contact, one of which is the current price.
