I'm thinking about living in a truck for the next 3 years while I finish university. Thoughts? I've lived in the wilderness for 3 months straight before, so I don't think it will be too bad. Additionally, I spend most of my time at work/class/library anyway.

Thank you, I've been getting trips and dubs non-stop lately. Yeah, I'm a burger. Cheap apartments do exist, but I hate renting places and being at the mercy of slumlords. By living out of a truck, I won't be tied down to a rental agreement, being able to just go somewhere whenever I want. Worst case scenario, I can rent a a studio/1bedroom during the summer months only because there are always short-term summer leases on the cheap. One of my goals is to buy a multi-family property when I get to grad school.

3 years is a long time to have no personal shower/bathroom. Consider buying a cheap RV if you're serious about it. Sell your truck and get an old RV with a bit more room to live out of. Then it's the same savings and freedom of not being a renter.
