I think it has a lot of potential for devs to build applications that become popular. If something becomes popular the price will rise. The biggest issue is the coin distribution, people don't want to be dumped on.

Skywire: a mainnet for developers to test - shitty wording to say it is still a testnet.
Skycoin: a mainnet that runs on master nodes because there is no consensus (and will never be).
Coin hours: offchain centralised solution.
Distribution: Done by hand by the team (upon time unlocking).
Fiber: We are in summer of 2019 and there is no way to develop dapps for it (while time doesn't stop for other platforms).

Skycoin has been years badly managed, using students and shitty subcontractors. They got fucked by a cheap marketing team, cheap developer for the consensus and the kittycash (remember that hyped kittycash from 2018?) and cheap hardware wallet creators (they had to gift non-functional wallets months ago).
