My 60 IQ mom has signed us up for a real estate seminar by Nick Vertucci (Verdouchey). She has paid $400 for this 3-day class for the both of us. Though I am open ears to new ideas and whatnot, I am mainly going to make sure she doesn't get ass-fucked into oblivion and spend $10K on the /advanced classes/ etc.

Basically I know zero shit about real estate. Do you guys have any pointers that will redflag it's a scam or help me convince her dumbass all they want is her money?

Tell your mom you dont need the advance classes. This intro class your going to is to learn what the system is about. What it is really is how to buy real estate usibg contracts to agree that you will pay any taxes on the house while you hold on to the house. This way you dont really but it and can have a house for a fraction of the price but must sell usually in batches to market makers. Its kinda like bitmex but for houses.

I went to a similar one. They tried to get me to pay $1000 for the 3 day course which I declined. after doing 5 mins of research I found out that during the 3 day seminar they'll ask you for 10-40k for ongoing mentorship. It's a scam.

My mon has expressed interest in these two. I explained to her how the sales funnels works and she gets it. Doesn’t mean you can’t get sone nuggets out of it. Instead of buying whatever the upsell is, take what you learn and go elsewhere. Look up your local REIA and go to their meetings. Go check out Biggerpockets content. Then actually take action by talking to some RE brokers and mortgage brokers. Everyone gets pissy about courses, but nothing wrong with them. Just gotta make sure you’re implementing whatever your learning and most don’t.
