My renters pay off the mortgages and I live with my parents. I live with them as a failed business neet. I only got the mortgages because my parents co-signed for me and they are well off. All I had to do was get the 20% down payments.

That all being said I am still a piece of shit loser even with having life handed to me on a silver platter. I almost had as much privilege as a fag Jew has in life but somehow I ended up virgin neet incel. if you have insanely high COL that is fine. and if you don't have friends/family you could turn to in the case of a total meltdown, that's also probably fine.

the way i see it, the adv of savings over something like ETFs are that savings are stable, and the withdrawal time is fast. but long term, ETFs are going to be much better returns. and most emergencies don't take the shape of "i need 20k within the next two days", so the withdrawal time is not a huge consideration. that leaves the stability consideration. yes, if you got very unlucky in a way that required a lot of money NOW, the instability of an investment account could be an issue. and that could happen.

If you have a far above average cost of living (SF/NYC), I'd say 20k is probably a fine emergency fund. If you're around average COL, and you have family you could turn to for financial help, I would cut the emergency fund down to 4-8k, whatever you're more comfortable with. if you have no social safety net, probably 8-12k is more appropriate.

I believe you, anon.
But I also dont believe you at the same time.
Also I do neither at the same time.
My thought of your claim is in a quantum superstate as a resulting from a lack of provable information.

You're right . I'll sacrifice electricity. My boss ( french state ) is very restrictive and I can't get a second job.

I live in a aera where public transportation is non-existant, and bike is just a crazy idea if you don t want to die here

My only chance is my trading skill. I have to grow slowly my account ( I started with 20euros, 500 today. Compound interest/low lev/SL/good entries) Or i'll literally kill myself .

Even if i'll make it, this fucking french state will tax me at a 65% rate. One of the worst country ever, believe me

Pretty comparable famalam. Almost broke down the other day talking about my situation but you can't be a bitch in this world. Only thing to do is to press on.

I just got into a finance career last year, I learned how money works, how to balance my cash flows, how fucked we are in this system. I keep a very tight budget, automated all my bills, track every dollar, invest as much as I can in crypto. I'm studying for my CFA now. Fucked on the first exam because it was too much material to cover, but I'll just come back and take it again.

I really believe in this space. And if I fucked up with my investments, well then what's fucking changed? Still broke, still a loser, still old. I guess I'll just keep pressing on until I finally just.. get to rest for eternity. What else you gonna do? No point in checking out early, I mean I'm not really suffering that badly. I have my health, I'm relatively attractive, I'm somewhat intelligent, I have a supportive family.

I'm sorry that you're in this mess because I know that feel. I guess I need you to keep going because I haven't given up, and if you give up now, then I have to wonder what this is all for and why I keep trying.

Please keep at it anon. This all might be worth it one day.

Who do you think is more likely to post in this thread, people who have money or people who flip burgers? Obviously it’s going to seem like that brainlet.
