Here is what will happen upon Mainnet.

Swift smart contracts will go live. Media will cover this "new" incredible tech. Retail investors will begin to froth at the mouth. Reddit will finally accept LINK as their own discovery and shortly after (June 3rd) Coinbase will announce a new coin listing. End of June CB will reveal LINK as new tradable asset. EOM June we will hit $5, no fuck question about this.

It all depends on if it works.

Scenario A:

An unforseen bug hits, or traffic/demand is garbage. Link plummets, then swings between 20 and 40 cents while the team tries to do damage control. The mockery on /biz/ is beyond all bearing. Many sell their stacks. The project might recover, but probably won't.

Scenario B:

Everything actually works. A surprising amount of data users and providers come online within the first month or two. More big partnerships are announced. Steady rise to 5$ -10$, EOY.

If they don't launch with a big partner on board and ready to actually use it, we'll dump hard until somebody actually starts using the fucking thing. If the opposite happens and a big partner is on board at release we'll crab for a bit until the partner starts talking about and showing the benefits of using it, that's when the singularity begins as institutional buyers flock in. So basically the rocket takes off 6 months from a major partner use case. Buying any time before then is making it, no matter the price.
You just have to hodl and wait frens. 10k stack is never have to work again status. Do not even glance at the sell button.

You don't need an NDA to keep quiet if you're a company with any decent marketing nous. If you have an understanding how marketing works you'll know to when to speak and when to hold your tongue. If Chainlink have said announcements on partnerships are up to the partners in question, how the hell are those partners supposed to announce anything if they're restricted by an NDA?

T doesnt understand tokenomics

The whole point of network usage and nodes is it locks up supply and creates demand for the tokens - twin tailwinds. If you need to use the network and you have to pay for the network in link, what do you think will happen?

Thats why the demand and partners question is so fuckin huge

I watched the Sergey presentation he did infront of 10 people because I wasn't sure what I was investing in. I know I'm a brainlet when it comes to this faux penny scam Ponzi scheme, but I'm certain this dude was just spouting buzzwords and hype. I came away from the presentation even more confused. What the fuck is a smart contract and why do you need a currency to make agreements on other forms of currency. Seems redundant.

>will there even be nodes running at main net?

if you actually are worried about this you've fallen for some serious fud. there will be features not present at mainnet like SGX, reputation, and more advanced aggregation methods (simple aggregation will be availlable), but there will absolutely be nodes. if you were in thomas' latest node setup class he explained that a listing service will be created for nodes at mainnet, which will literally just be a list of nodes available to use.

Nothing low key about it, months ago Sergey announced that thousands of people were considering running nodes after they sent out emails to everyone from the ICO asking them about it.

Decentralization is about involving anyone and everyone.
