My dad just rolls his eyes when I even say the word "invest". To him ANY form of investing is "gambling" I shit you not. Even boomer tier stocks and bonds, he's never done any research into anything. I still love him though, going to buy $5K links in a week's time. I got into this late because of the FUD thanks by the way, fuckers. Damn that blows, my dad's in debt for almost $100K because he's really terrible with money, most of that is student loans and credit card debt. He's always been there for me though when times were tough and my entire family has been pretty poor up until about 6 years ago or so. My mom funny enough is doing very well financially so I don't have to worry about her but my dad is pretty well fucked. I don't know if he knows it or if he just tries to hide it from me but I know he won't be able to truly retire on his own at this point.
