First I believed the "useful services will come with adoption" meme, then I started thinking there will never be any use in everyday transactions because nobody that I know who owns bitcoin including myself is using it other than for speculation.
Now I come to think that its purpose is like a 24/7 unregulated global lottery. Everybody knows lotteries are stupid, yet millions of people buy tickets everyday for the thrill of it.
Then again I don't know what living under a corrupt government with double digit inflation is like and how bitcoin is used over there.
