Why are people here only interested in crypto? Why aren't people here into other stupid risky get rich quick things - like options trading?

It just puzzles me to the point of sheer disbelief as to why people here focus almost exclusively on crypto. It's basically the safest way to get rid of what little you have, but the zoomers just don't wanna hear this. Desperation is just a very strong thing.

Options just as bad as crypto until you can find a few stocks you believe in and marry them until you consider them a virtual anime wife, learn ALL of their supports and resistances, learn how to judge the MACD, the volume pumps, judge the dumps, if they get next to resistance just sell.

After literal YEARS it will become a second nature to you and you can have at least a 60K a year income.

I recommend you at least learn Google and Amazon even if you can't afford it now at some point you may, those pop off and you make 10 20 or even 30 times your money.

If you like Uber learn that, or maybe even Walmart, also learn the indexes like VIX, SPY, QQQ to get ahead on downtrends. You have some creativity to what you can learn but make sure the options markets have volatility and volume.

Crypto lets you get away with just being lucky. Someone can make 1m from 10k from blind luck and think they're trading wizard. The same person will lose all of their capital in a week from aggressively trying to recoup what they lost.
The only real winners from crypto are the ones who get lucky - then get out.

Asymmetric returns - options are mostly fairly priced on risk:return due to quant models. Crypto, however, is not.

If you get lucky in options, you make a ton of money - but it's highly unlikely to happen.

If you get lucky in crypto, you make a ton of money - but it's far more likely to happen than it should be.

You can reduce your in crypto by adjusting your position sizing. Additionally in options you still pay for a risk premium if you want to buy a contract on a shit asset. So it's not like options give you a free lunch in risk exposure. When you want exposure to risky assets, you still have to pay for risk by either having skin in the game (buying the asset outright) or paying huge premiums.

The basic idea is that you have a right to buy or sell 100 shares of a company for a set price. Why is this important? Well if you buy the option for 60 cents a share, and the stock is trading at 1 dollar a share above your stock price, then you can walk away with 40 cents a share of profit by exercising the option. But if it goes the other way? Well you're only gonna be out a mad of 60 cents a share. It's a way to leverage your money (can get access to 100 shares without buying that many) and also hedging your risk.

The problem though is that most stocks only crab, they don't always go up or down. Thankfully, you can play this fact because options also have a time value. It's all about "well this could potentially be a good value". Personally, i think stocks are just as volatile as crypto right now because of Trump and Changs wild wang bang, but biotechs regularly moon, so i think options for a biotech is a good way to either hedge your risk (since they regularly will tank 70 percent (see nvax) or go up 200 percent (adma). It's a dangerous game, since they have a time limit. I recommend always buying in the money, and only start when you know how the market works

i occasionally trade options and futures in traditional markets. i've done it for over 10 years

but in 2017 i switched to mainly focusing on crypto and crypto derivatives. it's the least efficient market in the world and much easier to make money on it. my return (that i've cashed out) since then is about 14x my investment. about half comes near risk-free positions (arbitrage).

Depends. Weekly options that are out of the money are very risky, they can expire worthless pretty easily. Or you can go with options that are in the money with long expiration which are safer. Or for margin trading you can use high or low leverage for different levels of risk, plus you can also use stop losses which can limit your losses.
