Listen friends, there's a lot of misinformation and manipulation out there, in my experience, the biggest danger with crypto (and investing in general) is being easily influenced into investing in some tokens and then realizing you were just a sucker buying a shill's bags. We've all been here, folks. This crypto space is still immature, driven by greed, flooded with opportunists and is more dominated by marketing than by real value... and there are so many different projects all offering wonderful groundbreaking promises that it's very difficult to keep track of what's legit, what's a scam, and what's a big nothing... Well, do you remember the rick roll troll meme? Well the same folks who came up with that troll joke, 4chan (also known as Anonymous), has been orchestrating secret raids on reddit to downvote every thread discussing this particular token. Now think about this, who would FUD their own investment instead of shilling it? We all shill the tokens we own to our friends and family, so why are they doing this? It doesn't make sense, right? Well they're just doing it for fun, it seems... "as a joke", yup, just like the rick roll meme. All I'm saying is, be careful if you're thinking of buying this one, folks. Personally I'll be waiting until it proves itself to be more than just a joke and reaches at least 10 dollars before taking the risk to buy in, just to be safe. Smart move is to be patient and let the market decides if it can be trusted.

ChainLink has solved a problem that the blockchain & crypto world have been working on for years: the problem of how to get data on the blockchain to communicate with data in the real world. Chainlink has created a decentralized network that works with any existing blockchain and accepts inputs (data) from real world data feeds, like databases or APIs. This means that for the first time, events in the real world, as long as they can be packaged into a data feed that can be read by a chainlink node, can trigger an event in a blockchain... any blockchain. Chainlink's network also allows events on one blockchain (say, Ethereum) to trigger events on another blockchain (Bitcoin). This has never been possible before. And while there have been a couple companies trying to solve the problem, Chainlink is the first to market and is far more along than anyone else. They also own key patents and have many, many already established partnerships with major organizations in the world of banking & finance, law, and others.

Here is an overview: https://blog.chain.link/chainlink-an-overview-and-our-focus/
Here are some of the numerous use-cases: https://blog.chain.link/44-ways-to-enhance-your-smart-contract-with-chainlink/ (notice they start with finance)

SWIFT is a huge international banking messenging system working with a network of 12,000 international banks to clear billions of dollars of transactions every day. SWIFT chose Chainlink to develop their 'oracle service', which essentially is going to allow SWIFT to send messages to blockchains and execute payments and other financial contracts (think derivatives, bond & interest payments, and anything else) using the Chainlink network. Chainlink developed a proof of concept for them last year which took in data from the biggest finance firms in the world (Barklays, Fidelity, and a few others) and passed it through the oracle and interact with the SWIFT system. That's who these guys work with.

The founder of Docusign (https://www.docusign.com/)) is on their board and will be a client. This is huge because Docusign processes more electronic contracts than anyone. Docusign wants to make a big first move and let their contracts trigger events anywhere in the world. Think about how general a 'contract' is.

The director of blockchain engineering at Facebook is an advisor.

They are a member of the IC3, along with a small handful of other names like IBM, Microsoft, JP Morgan, and others. They only work with pros.

Basically, when Chainlink goes live, their first clients are going to be major banks and finance companies. I can direct you to more evidence of major partnerships as well.

Here is a talk the CEO gave recently explaining the basic concepts and the applications: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDHumZC8VsU (Again, notice the focus on finance and connecting blockchains to real-world finance).

I don't know about that project, haven't heard of it. I know there are others working on oracles, but none are as far along as Chainlink. The acquisition of Town Crier & successfully passing 3 security audits recently gives Chainlink the added security cred to get the attention of big banks & finance, hence the SWIFT partnership and others coming. See: https://blog.chain.link/town-crier-and-chainlink/

Chainlink works with the big dogs (see pic related) and has a working product going live on the 30th with customers already lined up.
