the official mew connect app. it's the official app, not a phish.

in the current version there is a bug that says the password you set is incorrect so you can't 'log in' to the mew wallet. i just created this wallet and then sent my ether, tried to back it up but it gave the error because it asked for the password then too, so now my funds are stuck in the wallet with no way to access them because of the password error and i didn't get chance to make a back up because you needed to put your password in to make a back up.

it wasnt a user error unless you say yeah i downloaded the app thinking it would work

it doesnt display pv key, it doesnt display seed words when creating on the mobile MEWconnect app.

creates the wallet > gives you the address > i sent tx > pop up came up saying "make sure to back up" with button > i click to back up and get my pv key and seed > it asks for password > the app has a password error > i think "fuck" > try a few times > close out th app > open the app > asks for password > but theres a fucking password error your shit is lost and you have been justed officially by the official mew app still available right now to download by thousands of people on the fucking playstore you god damn faggot

your wallet is stored encrypted with your password in a .db file
https://github.com/MyEtherWallet/MEWconnect-Android/blob/82b0dc49031b47bbf6dc85316ed18da1210ccca1/app/src/main/java/com/myetherwallet/mewconnect/feature/register/interactor/CreateWallets.kt#L50
>val encryptedMnemonic = StorageCryptHelper.encrypt(mnemonic.toByteArray(), params.password)
>preferences.applicationPreferences.setWalletMnemonic(encryptedMnemonic)
if you remember your password you're going to get your eth eventually, just make sure you have the .db file from the app.
It's possible it autofixes with an update, but if it doesn't and deletes data or something you will probably have to read the .db file on a pc and decrypt it there, which requires some programming knowledge

i type the password which is definitely my password, get wrong password 5 times in a row, it times you out for 5 minutes. then when i wait 5 minutes and try again, it allows you to log in to the wallet and you can see the eth address but you still have no access to the pv key. there is a backup seed button which displays seed words, click this you need to put the password in again, says error. same if you try and send to another address, the password says incorrect password (it isn't) and even when connecting to the desktop mew service there is no access to the pv key and the desktop service works kind of like ledger where you have to then put the password in on the device (the app) and it says password incorrect even though it is definitely my password. which is what i meant by people will just assume they have forgotten their password or mistyped like i did even though it is definitely not the case. if i hadn't just created the wallet 2 minutes before this happening i would have probably assumed i forgot my password even though the pw is definitely correct, and gave up

i tried the password at least 50 times and every 6th time it works, after the 5 min timeout.

open app > asks for pw > enter pw > says incorrect 5 times in a row > times out 5 min > enter same password > it now works and you're inside the wallet and can see your eth address

from here you can send or back up seed

click back up > asks for pw > password incorrect
try send > asks for pw > password incorrect

the same password just worked to allow you to log in to the wallet and get through the first screen which asks for pw, before you can even see eth address or anything only now it says password incorrect
