Normie friend asked me what he should do to invest without having to do anything because the banks aren't giving him squat for sitting on savings. He's scared of going in crypto so I was thinking bonds, any you guys would suggest? Worth using a mutual fund? I had my eyes on VWEHX if so, but maybe going a safer fund like LBUSTRUU:IND would be better?

I have slowly come to the terrible revelation that none of you know what the fuck you are doing. I have a Master's in Accountancy with a Minor in Finance. I work for a fortune 100 as a corporate accountant with a CMA and CPA. I used to have some faith in anon. None of you know how to actually value a company. You have no fucking clue how taxes work. You can't read financial statements. For fuck's sake you think TA works and the entire field of decision science churns out dissertations every other day highlighting their absolute dismay at the fact that brainlets ever consider using it. You have no idea what Dunning-Kruger is. You don't know what survivorship bias is. You are too fucking uneducated and stupid to comprehend how fucked you are.

One problem with "high-yield" bond funds like that is that they more closely follow trends in stocks, assuming you're trying to hedge against a downturn in stocks. See pic related. In general, if you're assuming that bond funds are a risk-free version of stocks with a lower yield, that is a mistake.

That’s a big part of it lol. The gestalt is that the text presents itself as a manuscript that was being studied by the SS at wewelsberg (complete fabrication kek) that drove the nazis insane until they sodomized each other to death. It actually gets pretty interesting though, the author clearly has a relatively good understanding of thelemic/occultist cosmology. Ra-Hoor-Khuit and Nuit are mentioned explicitly alongside the Kabbalistic cosmic incest of Babalon and the Beast, and I guarantee whoever wrote it cribbed stuff from the O9A since it mentions the Acausal Universe. A big part of it is wholesale plagiarized from renaissance alchemical texts from Agrippa, but it’s done cleverly with the allegorical rituals perverted so they would lead to desecration of body and soul instead of purification. Also has some homoerotic scat play + rape stories with a Grail Knight who’s a sort of Fallstaff character, Evola would be furious kekkies

Also SPY gaps down on Monday, I’m not offtopic posting

Jeez sunny, that sounds like mostly nonsense with enough sensible words to sound interesting. Agrippa, I recognize that one. And gestalt, I’ve always been jealous of the gestalt psychodramas Shinji got during the final episodes of Evangelion.

Gestalt therapy might be more useful than the talk therapy I waste money on. I don’t have the imagination or memory to get the most out of it though.

You really think spy gaps down? You think my viix might be worth something?

Did you know they HAVE to go through CA?
Even Hawaiian goods have to go to Californias port before Hawaii’s even though they pass right by the island-and even stop for fuel. So it would be a huge dick move to force use of you port and charge every other state in the country. Places like Hawaii would be really fucked cause they don’t want that ship passing by right now as it is. Thanks to a +100yo agreement this will never change in the Pacific...

German Chancellor Angela Merkel saidcompanies could participate in expanding Germany's 5G network if they met established safety criteria.

"For us, the security criteria are the decisive starting point in terms of deciding who will participate in the expansion," Merkel said, adding that the criteria are not directed against individual countries or companies.

Speaking alongside Merkel in Berlin, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Ruttesaid the Netherlands would not excludecompanies in advance of any auction for 5G networks.

French President Emmanuel Macron said separately that it was "not appropriate" to start a trade dispute over technology. The goal is not to exclude Huawei or other companies from network expansionbut to provide the necessary security, he said while atan industry conference in Paris.

The EuropeanCommission, the EU's executive branch, has not told national governments to avoidusing Huawei's5G equipment.

Nevertheless, the General Intelligence and Security Service of the Netherlands has started an investigation into possible "secret back doors" on Huawei products, according to a report in De Volkskrant newspaper.

One more thought. The gold / silver ratio is at historic highs, so there's probably more than a few funds going short gold, long silver hoping for the ratio to tighten up. Currently gold is remaining steady as a safe haven while silver is losing value as an industrial metal. If the ratio keeps widening, you could see some volatility as funds are forced out of positions.

You're in a bubble buddy. You know a lot of useless shit made up by retarded people in government positions. That's all about to evaporate at a speed you will not be able to comprehend. Accounting in its purest form is so simple anyone with a 110+ IQ can do it. It's just balancing books, which is mostly adding and subtracting. Business units, taxes, all that nonsense is made up by the most useless people in our society who don't want to work so they go in government to make themselves important at gunpoint.

It won't last. Get some real skills, stock up on food and metals. The bubble has popped. Everything you know is worthless and can be done better by computers. You no longer have a function in society in your current state. Prepare.

Ok, the good bits:

1. Zero debt other than house
2. Pension via work that at time of retirement will provide 48k in income (as of now - get Promo or new job at higher pay grade this will go up).
3. 401k also via work - doing good so far, raking in the Profit/Gains.
4. Make just under 27k a year. Wife's Salary brings in a decent haul. State is low col and I live close to work so gas is cheap.
5. Car is recent model and has low miles (under 58k). Paid for. Should last 15 years or more.
6. Wife's car is paid for.
7. Work regs allow for full retirement after 27 yrs. Can use sick time to increase time or cut down time. Get paid for any vacation time up to certain amount.
8. I'll be age 50 at the full 27 year mark. If I use my sick time I can cut that down to age 49 and still draw a full pension. Still get paid for any vacation time to. Medical is also covered. Can also do it the other way, use sick time to bump up my time to 28 years served when I only put in 27. Get higher pension.
9. Brokerage account is funded and ready for action. T babies will provide over 30k in income at age 65. AMRN will provide short term Profits.KDP may make it long term so another income stream. VTGN is another short term Profit play.
10, In general after bills, expenses I'm left with $300 - 400 in extra cash each month. She dumps any extra cash she's got into a high interest savings account.
11. House/Cars/Health (mine and my Wife's)/ Server is all in top shape. So no bad surprises should happen anytime soon.

The bad bits:

1. Gotta wait till age 65 before T babies provide income worth a damn. Early deductions from 401k gets you a "fee" before 59 1/2. Can't do S.S before 65 - 67 without taking a hit there either. So from age 50 I gotta live from pension/savings for 15 years roughly.

2. Wife's car is getting up there in terms of age/mileage. Holding up fine now but she wants to replace it. I tend to agree. At the age where it comes a "money pit".

I forget the exact provision on which the Supreme Court has rested its analysis (interstate commerce maybe? can't recall at the top of my head), but this kinda thing isn't allowed. I also hold various south American (Arg, Braz) stocks. They've also underperformed, but I still average down slowly. No rush.

Basically no-one knows long-term how the US/rest of developed world/developing world equity price story will play out.
Right now the US and certain non-US stocks are very highly valued, and people seem to anticipate that the US stock market will continue to outperform.

I don't mind holding ~5% developing nation ETFs to see what happens with them. But I don't have the experience or foresight to tell you what will happen. :^/

Between what my Wife has left over and I've got left over each month we'll get her a decent car that won't break the bank yet will do her a long time.

So basically take what we have left over and chop it in half:

Half into the bank
Half going towards the Wife a "new" car.

I'd have to sell my S&P 500 fund shares. No big loss, no commission fees involved and the amount I've over into it is not really much to amount to really anything over the long term.

checked. I read the balance sheet and filings for LCI the other day. I'm still never gonna buy the stuff, but I don't think it's a bad choice anymore. The lack of clear sales growth and the fact that most assets are intangibles is a little bit uncomfortable for most anons here I presume. I can respect your choice now in committing to LCI, I hope it ends better than big five, but I highly doubt it'll shoot straight up like most people hope it will; most likely just a slow steady climb up. $30 is a pipe dream. Regardless, it is a far superior choice to galt.

How are you anticipating competition with other general pharmas like Amarin and such? Do you think LCI stands a chance in the free market or are you hoping for a possible buyout in the future?

>> No.13714695

>>13714647
I think $30 is exaggerated, but only slightly. I'm looking at $20-$25. It was trading there when the company was doing very poorly. Large drop gap from 14 to $5, then up again and down from $9. Shorts are heavy heavy heavy. Short squeeze soon. Upon significant news, this stock will rise, shorts will panic and sell which dramatically raises the price to correction levels. Then once the short interest fades, stock rises more as people notice the good track it's on and institutions sell some now, but continue to hold some of their position. Before institutions sell is the time for you to sell, cause once they sell off itll drop slightly again, which is your time to buy back in before it hits $20-$25.

>> No.13714738

>>13714655
To $100? I can see that, but we're talking long long term holdings. It will land temporarily around 13-16, drop down to between 9 and 10, then shoot up to 20-25. After that it's a general steady climb. How long are you trying to hold? 2 to 3 years? That's about how long itll take to get to $80-90. At least that's what I'm thinking.

I've read galt's balance sheet and a few articles pendulum has posted here. It's basically a worst version of LCI, and far more specialized, so if it fails, it fails bigly (to be fair, LCI also has no long term investments so they can also fail in a similar fashion). They have their backs to the wall. LCI and galt also have a SHITTON of intangible assets. LCI actually struggles with that more than galt, and they can easily put themselves in a position to where they'll have to file for chapter 7 if they don't stay above water in the short term
>read: every single short-term risk present in the healthcare and biopharma sector
They're both on thin ice, but LCI has a lot more promise.

You can compare that to a company like Amarin (i'd give other examples, but i haven't read any other bio balance sheets). Amarin also has no long term investments, so they also have their backs on the wall. Unlike LCI or galt though, they have zero goodwill and far lower intangibles. They have a lot more leeway of failure and more cash to burn if things go south. They also have far stronger sales growth in their drugs, since they also sell general pharma stuff while developing their ace-in-the-hole.

for a company in the purely research stage like GALT, they might never sell a single product.
If they get bought by/partner with a big drug seller, the partner will be the seller/manufacturer. Because they already do that.
That's how most of these things go.
Very few (like, NONE) of the little research-stage biotech companies have the goal of being an in-house show where they do everything from inventing to selling a drug. that makes about as much sense as a drug company hiring a thousand doctors to administer the drug.

the only marketing and sales a company like GALT needs is to sell themselves to another company like the spicy little whore they are
