I feel like we're in for a really rough ride bros. The strength of our resolve will really start to get tested once we hit May 30th. I'm fully committed to this until the end, but we need to be real with ourselves. There are going to be some wild swings ahead of us and it's going to be really tough at times. Stay strong marines, never lose sight of the amount of autism has gone into the investment we all believe in. Its merits have been debated and argued for years. We are in this together, bros.

I think it will dump when the article comes out. We have a lot of bandwagoners and unironically dumb people holding LINK who don't follow conversations in telegram. There won't be staking, the token won't be used in the beginning. It is only valuable with free info and APIs because the companies that sell their API data already have real life reputation to lose, they're incentivised and trusted to do their job without staking one LINK. And payments are possible in their chosen currency so the LINK token won't even be a thing.

As of right now, there are limited means of writing data to the blockchain in order to execute a smart contract. Chainlink enables apis to do that in a trustless and secure way, which opens them up to a new market. The core of this fud -- that apis wont want to participate -- is strange and contrary to reality.

>> No.13680422

Also, this fud isn't particularly well-researched as it pertains to how the network operates. api data providers hypothetically could stake as node operators, but they certainly wont be in the early days

>> No.13680427

Oh fuck eth is mooning again

>> No.13680443

>>13680289
This is not FUD. I'm saying that BNC will run their nodes themselves. Under their name. With real life reputation. No need to layer some meme token on top of that, if they fail to deliver data to a SC they will not be used at all. That's enough incentive to keep them in check, no need for staking. Staking is only good for free and public data like weather or who won the world cup. Then it makes sense to ask a bunch of nodes that have something at stake. These nodes will barely be profitable and guess what, the demand is not so big for stuff like this. Also, once SGX is used you won't need the token at all. Then everything is confirmed and correct, you just pay them in your prefered currency which will be USDT or BTC probably. The token has no use case, really. Utility tokens never have a real utility, they're a smart way of funding a project where the founders aren't obliged to stake holders interests.

Who the fuck cares if it dumps with mainnet. Anyone selling their stack then & rebuying lower will most likely have to pay tax on any gains they make when they cash out - cause yknow, you retards are planning on cashing some link out at some point right, even if that's in 1-2 years? Or you could just move to Germany, sit back, not worry about swinging your already big stack, hold for a year, and then cashout tax free
>enjoy getting raped by your irs swingburgers

>> No.13680560

>>13680443
So in this hypothetical you've cooked up, BNC operates a node on the chainlink network and sells their data to contracts exclusively through that. Lets ignore why thats wrong for practical reasons -- for instance, that they've literally agreed to sell their data to other nodes via CLC Group -- and get to the philosophical points you are making.

actully nah, im on my phone and i dont want to type through it. the short is this: decentralization is a calue add and plenty of people recognize it. ill remember this chat in a few weeks when youre proven wrong

you dont know that. The more people on the network the better it is.

At this poing in time all we know is when main net is coming out. We dont know all the fine print and the project sentiment coould change based off that. we have to wait for the article and see what they are proposing. I get the feeling reputation is still being worked on and if thats the case the price might drop accordingly. Hell we still dont even know how reputation will work

I am worried the article next week is going to detail the release of the other 350 or 650 million tokens, and it will dump hard as fuck around the 23rd as everyone packs the exit trying to get out before their tokens are devalued by 2/3 overnight.

A normal team would never release such an article but I have a feeling Sergey is so autistic that he doesn't even comprehend (or, indeed, give a shit about) the retail panic that will ensure with the release of extra tokens into the wild.
