First off, real market makers are price agnostic, so they actually don't care about your stop losses, they just measure demand and try to supply the side they think is correct, but there are whales/opportunists with a lot of capital that are probably the ones that do the pump and dumps. Anyway, nobody trading is EVER supposed to see other ppls stop losses, that would be insider trading, but these people/bots are run by an exchange (aka Bitmex) then probably. But I remember reading somewhere that there are quants who collect and model orderbook data and try to estimate the current liquidation/stop losses, and if they calculate that say paying $X million to raise the price y% to trigger $Z raise in price by stop losses (where Z>X or something), then they pump (or dump) the price, and hence, the bart formations. So if they don't have the actual stop losses, then they have an idea at least.
