How hard is it to get a job at a decent hedge fund?

>> No.1365565

it depends on what type of job you're looking for. if its for a support role or something like that its not incredibly hard, provided you have the education / experience they are looking for. if its for a trading / portfolio management / etc then its very hard, because of the competition. based on experience id say its harder to get a front office role at a decent hedge fund than it is to get an investment banking job at a top bank. which is to say that even if you have top grades from a top school with top internships, its still a coinflip situation, simply because of the amount of qualified applicants for each position.
