Fellas, is this options strategy during earnings seasons feasible? It's worked for me so for this past week
>buy high volume straddle/strangleon stocka day before earning report
>sell straddle/strangle during power hour the next day (while IV still inflates the price)
>profit
>if you use 1 daytrade per week, you can do this from Monday to Thursday

Is there any downside to this that I missed? Or can it, dare I say, literally not go tits up?

> At a press conference in Washington, D.C. on Thursday afternoon, Bezos made his case for going back to the moon and showed off his private space company’s lunar lander.

> On stage at the event, Bezos dropped the curtain behind him to reveal Blue Origin’s Blue Moon lander. The craft features a large internal spherical fuel tank and sits atop four landing pads. It’s powered by liquid hydrogen, in part so it can be refuel from ice water on the moon’s poles. Hydrogen fuel cells will power the device through the lunar night.

> “This is an incredible vehicle,” Bezos said, “and it’s going to the moon.”

> Bezos also showed off a new BE-7 engine, a high-performance liquid hydrogen/liquid oxygen engine that powers the lander’s six minute descent. After it lands, Blue Moon will deploy a small rover. Bezos also displayed a photo of a version of the lander that can accommodate astronauts, and said he hopes missions can commence by 2024.

> Blue Origin has been working on Blue Moon since at least 2017. Last October, the company signed an agreement with NASA to develop medium to large commercial lander systems for the lunar surface. In exchange for $50,000 payment from Blue, NASA agreed to share technical analysis and information on potential lunar landing sites.

In serious matters, what is the strategy today? Are we waiting for the inevitable pre-market tweet? Are anons buying or selling? I really think this is just going to stall over for a couple of weeks with little change. Nothing effected by tarriffs will hit shores for 3-4 weeks and by that time there may be a deal.
However there is a better than 50% chance China will announce it's counter measures which will of course effect specific companies and devalue them slightly.
I think best strategy is;
>wait for countermeasures
>let them dump
>buy dip

Turning a loss into a long term hold is a terribly amateurish mistake. There are companies you want to hold long term, and there are companies you want to position trade. All GALT has to do to be successful in their phase 3 NASH trial is repeat the same results they showed in their phase 2 trial (in the 2 mg/kg arm, which is half of the 4 mg/kg optimal dose, as shown by cancer and preclinical trials, and stated by the company's current CEO)
Last CEO was an incompetent idiot who made a ton of mistakes in designing the phase 2 trial (making it too short for a clinical effect to be fully seen, not including a 4 mg/kg treatment arm, failing to distinguish between compensated and decompensated cirrhosis)
It's no coincidence that the former CEO submitted his resignation letter 8 days after Uihlein became chairman of the board

The 8 mg/kg dose doesn't work because of pharmacokinetics (the drug stimulates the enzymes that metabolize it, so as the dose of the drug increases beyond a certain threshold, it becomes less and less effective)

not really no, sorry. I wouldn't be surprised abut a relationship between shortages and wage fluctuations. That would actually have an impact on my model since I assumed wage growth was uniform, unlike the other variables. If wage growth was higher in low vs high capital intensity firms

The relation to protectionist policies will be harder to prove, though. You'd have to get a bunch of examples of what happened under different policies.

I might also be overestimating the impact of the trade war, since I calculated the tax as deadweight loss, as if it was just used to pay the deficit. Since Trump is using the taxes to buy agricultural produce it might change things. But between the distortions caused by higher agricultural prices and the deadweight loss caused by the tariffs themselves, it'd be pretty hard to model accurately. The recent crop failures combined with this policy of using all the money to buy corn could cause serious issues, though.

ok i figured out the metrics of the INUV merger+ipo of parent company next week.

Example: INUV price right now 1.40

You bought 1000 shares of INUV @ 1.40= 1400

Next week INUV merges with ConversionPoint Technologies.

Its a Stock and Cash merger.

For each INUV stock you own, you get 0.18877 shares of the newly created entity company stock. PLUS you get .45 per share of INUV stock in CASH.

You currently have 1000 shares of INUV.

1000 x .45= $450 cash back

1000 x .018877= 189 new company shares you own during IPO which occurs next week as well.

IPO price of new company is said to be $6.50

6.50x 189= $1228.50

1228.50+ 450(cash)= 1678.50

initial investment 1400

1678.50-1400= 278.50 profit

assuming you sell at 6.50 right away at the bell on wedsday the 13th of next week and you dont wait for it to go up/down.

Can you please explain why? Keep in mind I mean premium companies and not shit like Netflix or Tesla. You might want to look into that then.

this trade war is wild, ngl, I think it could be possible to draw comparisons to tariffs placed in certain agricultural products during early US history and the present trade war, but tariff impact varies greatly during different stages of development I believe. they are also more of a political than an economic tool I believe. a relation between tariff placement and rate of profit is very possible though.

trump confuses trade balance to currency flow, trade balance is like 5% of real flow so the tariffs are really stupid, if you can produce products elsewhere cheapily that is the most efficient way to boost standard of living. if you bring production home it will cost more and people will buy less. china will focus on their own consumer base 5-10 year they will not need usa to buy products

actually value a company. You have no fucking clue how taxes work. You can't read financial statements. For fuck's sake you think TA works and the entire field of decision science churns out dissertations every other day highlighting their absolute dismay at the fact that brainlets ever consider using it. continue to invest every month and it will grow. it takes time but eventually those payments start creating payments of their own. when your money make its own money, that is a great feeling.

Also dividend increases. Take PSX for example. This week PSX raised their dividend 12.5% (10 cents per share). I just got a 12.5% raise on that dividend for doing nothing. They do this every year (not always that high) but it almost invariably outpaces inflation.

The amount I get in dividend raises every year for doing nothing would be the equivalent of being required to invest tens of thousands of dollars in new capital to get that same amount.

stick with it. don't forget growth stocks, but my future will rely on based dividends
