Why are electric cars so expensive REEEEEEEEE

I have my drivers license for over a year already and managed to safe up 5k.

But the cheapest decent looking electric cars are over 15k.

I want to be rich finally why the fuck does it take so long to safe up money?!

If you buy a beater you'll be putting like a grand worth of repairs into it annually anyway. Buy new and have something that'll be nice for the next 15-20 years
