It won't be as catastrophic as MtGox, but still painful enough. Bitfinex is a major fiat gateway (there are few equally large fiat exchanges, most crypto trades are done in BTC, ETH or USDT), Bitfinex is used by crypto payment providers, to launder chink money etc.
But, as I said, I don't believe that Bitfinex is threatened. It has already been hacked back in the past and since then it has been probably the most secure and well-engineered exchange.
