Billed as a ‘social event without formal talks, panels or debates,’ it ended up being slightly more than that when Ver was served with legal papers by Dr. Wright’s representatives.

Read the article. From all available information Roger Ver has never been sued by CSW before.

RV is a conspiracy theorist. I believe there is a lawsuit ongoing against RV, back from the hash war period last November. Some people lost money in the whole BCH vs. BSV debacle. I think RV thinks those people are being paid / hired / whatever by CSW. But it's a conspiracy theory until proven otherwise and personally I doubt it's true given how current events have publicly unfolded.

They mostly just hate laws because they want to do criminal shit that's what it comes down to. It's a completely indefensible position, these anarcho types can never answer what will be in place of law. It's always some retarded cop out like "just be nice lawl" or private courts with private law, that makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever. They have no solutions, no replacement system and zero understanding of what makes a civil society. They also do not understand that rule of law and private property rights is the very foundation of capitalism. It's such shallow thinking, they believe if you just remove the government and law altogether you will be left with some sort of UTOPIA.

They argue for this while enjoying all the opportunities, safety and benefits that civilized societies with robust legal systems provides, and which they all take for granted. And of course these retards won't ever move to the Congo or even Somalia to see what a lawless place looks like. Fucking brainlets.

>> No.13503267

nah libertarians just don't like the overbearing state and bureaucracy and inefficiency and heavy taxation it comes with. nobody is so retarded as to want no laws. but when 25% of employees work for the government or even state spending is way more than 15% of gdp that's fucking bad.

Nobody likes corrupt government, that's a fucking given. Fighting for transparency, accountability, equality under the law, and fair application of justice is all well and good. Good government is the solution, not removing government. But isn't it funny how they always attack people trying to clean up the system and take out the trash who fight to reform like Trump and Craig.

Anarcho capitalists always take it a step further. I've had so many fucking arguments with these cucks who think that government should be abolished altogether and that law is unnecessary, Roger Ver prime example. They have no fucking clue what they are wishing for, they just hate the status quo and want to be accountable to nobody.

*Sigh* intellectual subtlety really is a lost art these days.
Both anons are right in this case. Satoshi knew that governments would be antagonistic towards bitcoin even as he hoped that it would ultimately exist in harmony with the existing system of laws (n.b.: not money, that he did want to upend)
There is a happy medium between being a neckbeard cypherpunk NPC who unironically thinks "code is law" and being a jackbooted statist asshole.
>>13503203
>private courts with private law, that makes absolutely zero sense whatsoever.
You are straw-manning most libertarians/minarchists as full-retard anarcho-capitalists here. Most libertarians want the government to continue to use force to guarantee private property rights and appreciate the whole legal tradition that is derived from those basic rights.

Lol no, absolutely not a straw man. I mean right now we are talking about people like Ver for example, you could say a pretty well respected Anarcho-capitalist personality in crypto. well two things about that
1) traditional financial markets all need regulation all need state sovereignty at their core altho privately issued currency is possible to work but then the issuer would practically run a state within a state (which the big state will not tolerate)
2) bitcoin does not need regulation to function. it does not need trust or law. that is the power of "code is law" you like to make fun of. bitcoin is not backed by anything it is solely valued for itself and it transacts all of it's value independent of any authority when spent. it doesn't get any more ancap than that.

Meh, I think CSW is Satoshi and Ver made a mistake, but you're wasting your time trying to crucify him on this cross, IMO. Better to focus on his incompetence as a bitcoiner in general, sad as it is given his involvement in the early days. Not everyone can make it to the finish line, unfortunately as many will get "off track" as the topsy-turvy history of bitcoin plays out.
>>13503469
>bitcoin does not need regulation to function. it does not need trust or law
Bitcoin is still, in some sense, dependent on the infrastructure of our present civilization - a civilization based on state violence - to function. Maybe in the distant future, the mycelium of bitcoin will completely digest and replace the entire legal system, but that is not a guarantee. It definitely WILL replace all our current financial plumbing, but in order to do so it will still depend on the substrate of the current system.
