My current job allows me to work from home 4 days of the week.

At first I thought it was a trap, that nobody who actually worked from home all the time would get promoted, so I went in every day for the first 7 months.

I was wrong- the office is EMPTY except on "co-location" days. Junior staff, middle staff, management staff--no one is fucking there.

I make 75k, have student loans, paying off a car, currently renting and don't own shit and I'm 26. I want to do a good job and climb the corporate ladder so I can make more cash so I can buy a house one day but how the fuck am I going to do that via the internet?? I've been seen as a "top performer" at my job and I've legit masturbated for half a day while logged in to work and everyone gives me praise when I send like two emails.

Just make sure you attend every meeting, and do everything assigned to you. You don't have to be the hardest worker now. You do, however, need to be respectful, punctual, can shoot the shit if required (less do when working from home), complete all assigned work, and perhaps most importantly of all, be able to really sell your experience in your next interview.

What if jobs are just a big meme to keep people waging.
>Lab job
>Show up 30+ minutes late daily still first or second person there.
>Haven't seen boss in a week he just occasionally sends emails about bills I need to pay
>Do maybe an hours work a day shitposting and filling out applications all the meanwhile.

the funny thing is, you're not wrong. someone is paying your company for you to do that.

you have to realize, just as humans are organisms made up to many cells working in tandem, corporations are organizations made up of many humans. Like your appendix, some people may be kept around even when they have no use, but as long as you don't cause the organization any pain they won't remove you. Just use the opportunity to do remote-work and you'll be making double-income.

in the age of automation, jobs ARE a meme. Think the billion manufacturing jobs which would be completely obsolete if every hardware store had a CNC mill which just printed exactly what parts were necessary on-demand instead of ordering inventory? Most white-collar jobs have been reduced to clicking a few buttons, and the required education to click those buttons is constantly diminishing.
