I don't even know what they mean by that. Lost 850 million in crypto or fiat? As far as i know, they never had that much fiat backing in the first place, it was mostly btc/eth and tether.

I don't understand. If tether didn't do what they did they would have unironically lost users funds. As it is, noone lost any money. It seems like tether was just doing what they had to do to protect everyone.

I'm sure tether isn't fully backed, but at the same time untill NY shows any proof of those lost funds it's just a joke.
