It never ceases to amaze me how this "business" board goes full cult for their different shitcoin pump and dumps, where the only objective is hoping enough people get hyped and you get in early enough to sell off to the newer hyped buyers after an initial spike.

It's kinda sad actually, all these chumps with 500 bucks trying agnd failing to get in early on the next pump and dump.

BTW OP, crypto isn't investment, it's speculation.

Getting started with investing depends on how much you have to work with, what your credit score is, and what kind of risk you're willing to take. Answer these and I can give you real investing advice from a real investor.

I have no credit at all, i know real estate is a great idea but without credit you cant really get into it. I would love to hear some things from you though. Willing to take medium risks, dont want to go broke on a first time investment, I have 500$ im willing to invest right now

You're right about real estate. You don't go into it without first having made some serious money.

You are me 3 years ago, except I had excellent credit rating, but that didn't really factor into what I did, it just helped give extra rewards by putting my business expenses through a high-reward credit card and paying it off every month for a 4% return on expendiature.

Here's the truth. You don't get rich from investing alone. Investing is a long game where you play with percentages and try to game the tax system. You can invest with any amount, but even if you found an investment that returns 100% in a year, your $500 would become $1000, and $1000 really isn't much in the grand scheme of things. More realistically, most investments return 5-10% per year. Invest 40k initially and $500 monthly and you'll end up with $203k after 10 years, with around 100k of that being interest. That's the endgame (ignoring business) but instead you invest 500k for 10 years and come out with 1.7m (1m being interest) That's 100k per year for essentially doing nothing, and what you want to aim for.

As for your situation right now. You need more money to make investing worth it, however you CAN run some pretty effective side hustles with $500 starting.
I would reccomend dropshipping as a low-cost, high reward side hustle.
I started with about 2k, and after doing a month of research in advertising, markets and products, I spent about $50 setting up my shopify store and everything else I needed. Bought a few products I scouted from Aliexpress to check their quality, and then started dropshipping one to start with, advertising on facebook and instagram. I spent about $150 on ads to get the data I needed for "better ad return" and after that I was about breaking even in sales vs adspend. A month later, I was making profit, about $1200 a month (after expenses) 5 months later and with different products, I was making 1k per day on some good days.

not OP but I'd love to hear what you have to say

>how much to work with
$350 per week disposable, $1000 in checking also disposable
>credit score
785
>risk
I'm open to high risk. I live at home, I work 80 hours per week, my truck is almost paid and I've got some savings, 401k, and some government bonds I've had since I was a kid. At this stage in my life it would be stupid not to take some good risks

I made the 2-4 week delivery time clear in my "payments and shipping" page. Under each product I had a small disclaimer about the shipping times. With some products I had specific notices to the tune of "due to high order volume please allow for up to 4 weeks shipping time" etc.

But generally the products I dropshipped, I made sure they had 20 days or lower shipping times. It's usually not a problem. It's only a problem if you try to hide the shipping times and people expect it to arrive in a week and start wasting your time with customer service requests.

Also super secret protip. You can jew a few extra dollars on every order by offering a "priority processing" option that's opt-in. Basically you want to say that processing times are a big factor, but ticking this box and paying 4 bucks will put your product to the front of the queue. People love this and it's usually placed in about 30% of my orders.

Just make sure your products have short delivery times with Epacket, you're upront about the shipping times, and don't BS customers. Most people will be ok with longer shipping if it's clearly communicated.

When you start doing more business, you can get a supplier contact in china to pre-acquire bulk product for you (especially useful if you're branding) and you can also use distributing companies to pre-stock in countries you supply, which can reduce your delivery time by a LOT, but raises overheads.

If you want to learn about investing, all you really need to know is invest the majority of your portfolio, up to 100% even, in a low cost total index fund. Do this for 3 or 4 decades and you are guaranteed to be a millionaire. If you want to learn about /biz "investing" read everything else here and get yourself some shitcoins.

I forgot to mention that I offer "priority processing" for "free" on oders $60 or more. I also have an app which asks for customers to sign up with their email in order to play a small game of chance giving them discount offers between 0% and 75% (anything above 15% is incredibly rare). This way I get nice email lists for retargeting later.
