I'll never understand BTC minimalism. Didn't the last bear market teach you to always be a BTC maximalist?

Swap your ETH for BTC and ride comfy. Also add some Lition since it retraced nicely today.

>>13378889

In the last bull run, the BTC maximalists actually had much smaller returns from a percentage standpoint than people holding alts. The key is to know how to pick alts and when to sell them.

Most alts are still down 90% from ATH and BTC was doing better than most alts untill the jump from 10 to 19k when the majority of people bought the top and lost thousands of dollars. I've made most of my money off of alts but it's all in the pursuit of BTC and the vast majority of alts today won't be around next year.

There's a 100x just by getting to bitcoins current price. Then consider the necessary market cap of a global reserve electronic currency. Probably $100 of Monero today could make you a millionaire.

Why has bitcoin got to bitcoin's price even though inflation is still running at 4%? In fact monero's inflation will be lower than bitcoin's sometime in 2020.

Finite supply is retarded and unprecedented. There's a good chance that bitcoin will stop working when the block subsidy runs out. Retards call it digital gold and even gold has averaged about 3% compounding inflation every year. When Milton Friedman suggested ending the central bank and replacing it with a computer he proposal a 4% fixed money supply growth.

Once monero's linear tail emission starts it will be less than 1% and shrinking as a percentage of money supply every year, assuming people aren't losing coins at an even faster rate. This small change in emission allows monero to scale the blocksize dynamically, which is impossible for bitcoin.

People say that bitcoins advantage is that it has been around the longest and is therefore the most tested and reliable blockchain. What they neglect to think about is that a bitcoin with full blocks and no block subsidy is a fundamentally different thing from the chain that has been running for the last ten years. Nobody knows if there will emerge a stable equilibrium of incentives like happened with bitcoin initially (to everyone's surprise).
