Say you're making x amount of dollars from art you've made

A company comes and wants to buy your work for 4x what you make a year but wants to own the exclusive rights to it MINUS future works.

Should I do it /biz/?

How much do you need the money? Could be win/win

No, they’re getting too good a deal at that price. Stocks right now are valued at 20x future earnings, for example.

It would basically be 4 years worth of money in an industry that isn't entirely stable and requires relevancy. I don't NEED the money because of current income but it would provide stability. Then I could just continue to earn money from future works they wouldn't own.

The main negative would be that I wouldn't be able to continue to accrue the royalties from my past work because they would own it.

Don't say no, figure out what would make you say yes and offer that. Even if it's ridiculous.
