If you are good at leetcode (200+ problems) you can land a job at FAANG (Facebook Apple Amazon Netflix Google) no problem making $200K at least (total compensation = base pay + bonus + equity grants)

I had grades to go straight to uni but did roofing for a year just to see how I'd do in a trade. Money was great, $250 a day in cash but after a while you really feel the pain even at a young age, then you start to notice how all the people you work with start drinking at 9am for the pain and see how you might be them in 10 years if you aren't careful. Ended up going back for Chem eng, make a bit less than I did doing roofing but I have a career path with clear positions to advance to now. If you're smart enough to do college I recommend getting something there related to a real industry even if it's just a one year concrete technician degree. Try a couple trades first to see if it fits you cause it really can be a good gig but don't get trapped there if it's not for you.
