Okay I'm cutting it straight to the chase - I am a lousy worker and a do-nothing wanker. I have a useless BA in Economics and have a do-nothing desk job that pays me decent. I have no motivation to do sales or anything front-office as I am introverted and lazy, but also too stupid to do programming or upper end data analysis. Anyway, I'd like to build my career of back-office bullshit by getting a masters degree. My ultimate goal? I want to move to some European country or Canada/AUS or something and live a nice comfortable life. I've tried looking abroad for jobs and a BA definitely will not cut it, at least not with my useless degree.

So tl;dr, will a MBA from an average school in the USA help me find some back-end office job in Europe?

>> No.13313883

Also, the school in question is low prestige outside of America, but quite affordable. I probably wouldn't even do an MBA, just an MS to really dial in some bureaucratic back end analytics shit.

AND DON'T SHILL ME LINK, I ALREADY HAVE A FUCKING BAG

i especially appreciate how you made sure to sterilize your post, making sure that the first letter was capitalized, won't had an apostrophe and added a period, just to be 100% sure that I wouldn't fire back with a spicy grammatical point-out of my own. Well played sir, you are by far the smartest ITT, possibly even on /biz/.

I left an average US business school after one semester. Unless you're accepted into a top 5 its not worth it.

Don't do a MSF/MBA that isn't top 20. You have years to practice for the GRE/GMAT.

If France, yes
employers are autistic about diplomas
I'm a headhunter, and I regularly get clients asking about diploma when considering applicants that have been in senior positions in global A-rank companies for 15-20 years

you'd be better off getting your MBA in Europe. It'll be cheaper, and unless you're showing Ivy League pedigree, American diplomas are seen as Mickey Mouse diplomas . Having studied in both environments, I have to agree. The average European cursus has a higher focus on writing skills and argumentation, there are very little multiple choice tests in Europe ,

Come to Berlin or Prague for your so-called gap year like every twenty-something American, sit around in cafes, go clubbing and tell everyone how cool the natives are and how great you fit in (hint: you don't ). Tell everyone you are doing something with media and are a barista in the mean time.

Ask around for jobs with that desperate looks I your eye.

Congrats, our cities are infested with people like you, you'll fit right in.

mba is a masters degree in buzzwords, truisms and powerpoint. if you pay money to get one i honestly just feel sorry for you

>> No.13316865

i know plenty of mba's and they ALL only took it cause they imagine better job prospects. content of these courses is just bullshit buzz words. an mba is a bag of hot air. also it can heavily empty your pocket depending where you learn the scam.
in economy there's nothing really relevant thats not sufficiently covered in a bachelors. i also know of people who "buy" into mba courses that have a reputation that everyone who gets in also graduates... if the mba is not from the original top 3 schools that started the whole hype it's just another worthless bullshitting degree for optics in my opinion.

Unless they start their MBA while they already have an established career, they'll still be competing for the same entry level jobs with recent college grads that they could have gotten without ever doing their MBA

In Europe, competence is valued over confidence. Your MBA won't be as important. You'd also be leaving your network behind which is a lot of the presumed value of that degree.

In North America, it will tell employers that you understand how to check your conscience and act as the hands and mouth of your business. If you are also confident and make some similarly confident connections while in school, you should make it.
