For instance someone who fears being manipulated, being used by others, will tend to see beings who he knows he must not trust. That's why we have guys in this thread saying the elves they see must not be trusted. Their life experiences have taught their subconscious not to trust people, and then the contents of their subconscious show up in the trip.

Those who have deep-seated fears will tend to see sinister things. Those who have been loved in their childhood will tend to have that feeling of love amplified in their trips, seeing angels or love being the fabric of the universe or whatnot.

If we really transcended space and the material world when we go on our trips, why is it that we can't ever communicate with other people in a way that they remember? Or why is it we don't ever come back with supernatural abilities that others can notice?

When we're tripping we become absolutely convinced of things, we see them as real. At one point I became convinced I was communicating telepathically with a specific person I know but who doesn't have my phone number. I transmitted my phone number with my mind to that person and told her to call me. I never got the call. Then you can rationalize that however you want after the fact, telling yourself that she was really hearing your voice but didn't believe it was real and that's why she didn't call, and that when you mention it to her she doesn't know what you're talking about because she forgot or because she's lying, but at what point do you accept that it was your mind experiencing that in isolation and that you were just imagining things vividly?

It's like religious people, they always come up with reasons why we never have an objective proof of the existence of their God. Maybe it's simply because he only exists in their mind.
