How common is it to delegate signatory authority to a temporary professional employed by an accounting temp agency?

The position is stand in as full charge bookkeeper while the client searches for a permanent hire so the aspect makes sense in the position.

I think the same person making accounting entries and signing checks is an internal control weakness. Even worse if you have access to the blank checks. And that’s assuming a trustworthy owner/employee. As a temp, this situation is outrageously negligent. Rob them niggas (j/k)

When I was in public accounting we did this all the time. There were checks and balances sure but most of our client's AP was processed and payed by me.

Just find it abnormal that they'd hand a temp the corporate checkbook
