He's right, it's not an investment. It's a speculative savings vehicle.

So is USD, CAD, AUD whatever currency you have earning -2% a year in your savings account after inflation, your savings in your currency can easily swing in value.

5-10% in PMs is just prudent saving, going all in on fiat is just as speculative as going all in on metals.
