Well its digital gold and it works within Ethereum. So perhaps one would use it as a store of value or as a way to transmit value to other people or between smart contracts. It is a pure mined and scarce money. Maybe it will be used for Ethereum-enabled games in the future, for microfees, subscribing to services, any online form of value transfer related to Ethereum. This may not make much sense right now but if Ethereum goes as planned (PoS, Casper, Sharding) then it makes sense.

You fuckers need to understand that the value in Ethereum is not ETH, it's Ethereum itself. ETH is gas for the network and was supposed to be from the start, ETH shouldn't be $1000 a pop because that only means more expensive gasfees.

Now take that into consideration and imagine that a trustless, immutable, puremined currency immune to 51% attacks would be used as the standard currency on Ethereum (0xBTC)

My understanding is that the main reason for the name is because it's essentially Bitcoin but inside Ethereum. The name is fitting. Not scammy. BTCP is when the Bitcoin brand is misused as it has nothing in common with Bitcoin.
