How many Linkies from ICO/Assblaster days still lurk?
I feel like Link culture died 6 or so months ago when the IC3/Accord/TC announcements were made. We just got a huge wave of morons and idiots who have zero idea about the asset they invested in and it completely diluted our culture.
Before then, it really was like a family. We would obsess over the tech, search for hours over any breadcrumb that was available, make up *funny* copypastas for the lulz and just shitpost about our excitement. Maybe I'm just nostalgic or viewing that time with rose tinted glasses, IDK.

Link threads are just different now. They're so shitty. People still unironically engage in FUD that we've seen come full circle. The copy pasta spam is unfunny and just over saturated at this point. Theres a new fuckin larper everyday that people fall for hook line and sinker. The feeling of having that Link family relationship died and is 6 feet under.

Off chain data doesnt speak the language of on chain data. Basically, bitcoin is decentralized, but if you want anything to feed into a contract for bitcoin, that is centralized. This is a 'point of failure' to what is otherwise an entirely decentralized ecosystem. Chain link is a decentralized solution to this point of failure. The specifics get complex, but basically, if you, say, wanted to execute a contract, such as a call or put option on the stock market, what you essentially need is the data of how much a stock costs in order to fulfill that contract. All the other portions of that contract are fairly simple, but where do we get the info of how much the stock costs? Bitcoin and other crypto currencies can't verify a stock price. This is where chain link comes to play. Chainlink would decentralize this portion of the contract, so we don't have to rely on asking one individual how much a stock costs, as whomever we ask has the ability to fraudulantly lie and falsify the contract. Chainlink itself is the currency that the nodes, or the 'data verifiers' would use to confirm that everyone is in agreement of the stock price. If your node is saying different shit from the other nodes, you lose your link. This gives the purchaser of the smart contract the ability to come to terms with how much decentralization they want. Have a big job? Run a whole fuckton of nodes for your contract and pay those nodes. Care less about security for a small job? Run a cheap-o trust less operation and only run a few nodes.
